What can you tell me about Wolfgang Pucks Cafe? Is it a place thats ok for kids? We are currently planning to go to Planet Hollywood(noisy restaurants are a good thing for us), but Ive gotten a lot of bad reviews on it. The WPC menu looks good to us, but we know nothing else about it and arent sure if it would be ok for 4 active boys(6, 6, 4, 3).
Any opinions?

I dont know much about it other than it has great pizza. Should be okay for kids - I wouldnt think it wouldnt be.

I wouldnt try Fulton's with kids.

Hey......how about the Rainforest Cafe? We tried that last December and it was good.

LOL! You are the second person who has suggested that to me. It is a great idea except we have one 10 minutes up the road from us, so we want something that we cant have any day. ;)

Are you from Burlington?

You know, I didnt think Planet Hollywood was a bad place to go.

They have a great kids menu. Prices are pretty good. There are alot of different things to look at on the wall. Its pretty cool actually. Alot like Hard Rock.

Its tough to get an opinion on food/restaurants. Everyone's tastes are different, each restaurant's food/service can vary daily.

I dont know if you are staying on or off/sight, but Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club is a fun place to go as well.

Im from Woburn, right off 128, so just a few minutes up the road is the mall. :D
Thats what I thought about PH too. Ive eaten there in 95 and 98 and enjoyed it. I did end up with stomach problems after our meal there in 98, but I seem to get that for about 12 hours on all of our WDW trips, so I cant really blame it on the food(plus the other 8 people didnt get sick). When I asked here for opinions onour choises, I consistently got negative feedback about PH, so Im second guessing that choice now.

Hi

We went to the PH in Myrtle Beach in 2001 and it was good. LOUD, but good. We visited the PH in DTD in 2001 as well and thought it was fine. Like I said, the food is consistent, much like the Hard Rock's. We always enjoy that. We always seem to get a "stomach" thing on vacation as well. We never seem to dine out the other 51 weeks of the year, so it may just be our stomachs getting used to richer food than normal.

You didnt say if you were staying off site. Are you?

I have always wanted to try the Cape May Seafood buffet, but may be disappointed in the types of fish offered. We are used to our cold water fish so I am alittle leary of trying warm water fish. I should anyway though.

Another place I am on the fence about is the Aloha Dinner at the Poly. Get some negative/positive feedback. It is expensive. I have to give that a little more thought.

Oops, we are onsite at ASMO.

I was planning to give PH a try despite the reviews, but then I came across the menu for WPC and thought it looked really good, like something we would all like.

We love Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. Tons better than RF or PH in our book. You would be fine with your crew as it's a very busy and noisy restaurant....but it has an extensive menu and everything we've tried has been very good.

It does get very busy as the evening goes on so we like it for an early dinner or even better for lunch.

We LOVE WGP cafe--never had the Express or the upstairs finer dining. The cafe' has a wonderful selection and unique specials. There are no Disney charcters, no entertainment (other than the view if you sit on the patio) but the service has been great, and I don't recall a wait in the summer (2001 & 2002) so... you have to decide what's more important. PH has so much to look at and I imagine is "very cool" to kids and teens (most adults...) but I ate there once and the food was awful. Depending on your party--you may opt to get Express pizzas from WGP and sit at Downtown Disney and people-watch. Split the meal! Have dessert at PH or vice a versa. If you all love music, House of Blues is good. I'm southern, so I try to eat food I can't get around here. I loved the food and atmosphere there. (no kids) GOOD LUCK! Dining decisions are my greatest struggle.

mrslane:

Where exactly is this restaurant located? I dont think I have ever seen it. I am convinced and will try it next time!

Wolfgang Puck's (all three parts to the one restaurant) is in the middle of Downtown Disney's West Side. House of Blues is at the very end of DTD WS, across from Circ de Sole` (spelling?), and Planet Hollywood is between Pleasure Island and the movie theaters. WGP has such a great variety. I haven't eaten upstairs in the most upscale part, however. They even have a sushi bar downstairs. I hope you like it!

Thanks for your reply Mrs. Lane. One more question.....we are staying @ the Poly so I am assuming the only way to get to DTD is by bus. Does the bus stop on the West side? Last year we stayed @ POR, and the boat stoped at the West Side. Seems like a lot of walking from one side to another.

You're right about the buses, unless you want to brave driving. There is a huge parkinglot, but it seems a little hectic for me. There is a bustop at the Westside part of Downtown Disney, but it is not always operational. Ask the driver when you get on if he/she will stop at the Market Place AND/OR Westside. There may even be a bustop in the middle near Planet Hollywood, but it may all depend on numbers of people no the bus or on property. I know that it is a LONG walk from the Marketplace to Wolfgang Pucks--I really perfer not to have to hike to a bus after dinner! :D However, it's fun to start at one end and slowly browse shops on the way to the other end. It's especially pretty once you hit the West side. I hope you love it! We plan to go there for dinner our first night!!!
