So I hear there is this great bacon wrapped Meatloaf and can't seem to find it on a menu or where it's located?!:confused3

OMG that's the best dish ever! its at wolfgang puck express, marketplace location. By the lego store. So yummy!

It's not far from the resort bus stops on the Marketplace side. We had it the other night. I thought the meatloaf itself was just ok, but my husband loved it. The mashed potatoes were excellent. I felt there were too many onion straws and wish there was a side like the creamed spinach they have at LeCellier. It would would have been a perfect side for this meal!

One thing I didn't like about the menu at the ordering site is it did not specify what the sides were that came with the dish, instead of just the main filler of the meal listed.

I always eat at the location near EoS, and they have it on the menu as well. Not sure why it's not listed on the websites, 3 vacations, half a dozen stops to WPE, over the span of a year, and it's always been there.

Dang! GREAT PICTURE!!! My mouth is watering. :cloud9: This was by far one of the best meals of my trip. Sooooo yummy.

BTW, definitely go to the one by Lego/EoS. That location have never failed me! Never had a problem with the food. ALWAYS mouth watering. :cloud9:

So if I have ADR at Wolf Gang puck Cafe then I can't get it :( I better cancel that ADR and use it somewhere else!:confused3

That's for Wolfgang's sitdown. The meatloaf is at his Counter Serve. No reservation required.

And thanks to Goofy! :)

Best place to check the Cafe menu would be www.Wolfgangpuck.com
It is listed under Bistro/Cafe in Casual Dining. I have found the official Puck site to have the most up to date menus.

They had the Meatloaf last year at the Cafe in addition to the Marketplace Express location.

Well I'm a meatloaf person and I make terrific meatloaf! And since having it at WPE, I now make it with his recipe. It's all about the mushrooms which you cannot detect, they had a savoryness, I love it, beats 50's Prime Time's meatloaf any day! Here's his recipe, but honestly it's just easier to go to WPE, then having to make it yourself!

WOLFGANG PUCK'S BACON-WRAPPED MEAT LOAF Recipe
3 Tbs.-virgin olive oil
1 large onion, peeled and diced
1/2 lb. mushrooms, trimmed and finely chopped
3 large cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 Tsp. oregano, minced
1 1/2 Tsp. thyme, minced
1 1/2 Tsp.salt
1/2 Tsp. ground black pepper
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. ground pork
1 lb. ground veal
1 egg, lightly beaten
3/4 lb. bacon (sliced-about 13 slices)

Instructions for Bacon-Wrapped Meat Loaf Recipe

1.In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil. Sauté the onion until translucent, about 8 minutes. Add the mushrooms and garlic and cook over medium-high heat until they just begin to color, 3-5 minutes. Stir in the cream, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes. Transfer the vegetable mixture to a large mixing bowl and let it cool.

2.Preheat the oven to 400 FA. Add to the bowl the beef, pork, and veal. Stir in the egg and continue mixing just until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.

3.On a work surface, position a 9 by 5 by 3-inch loaf pan. Line the bottom and sides of the pan with the bacon slices, placing them parallel tot the short end and slightly overlapping, with their ends hanging over the edges. Add the meat mixture to the pan patting it down to make it smooth and even. Fold the ends of the bacon strips up and over the meat mixture to enclose it completely. Cover the loaf pan with aluminum foil.

4.To prepare the water bath, place a roasting pan inside the oven on the middle shelf. Bring a kettle of water to boil. Using an oven glove, slide out part way from the oven the shelf with the roasting pan. Place the loaf pan in the center of the roasting pan. Carefully pour boiling water into the roasting pan to come halfway up the side of the loaf pan. Cove the roasting pan with aluminum foil.

5.Carefully slide the shelf back into the oven and bake for 1 hour. Remove the foil and continue to bake until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of the meat loaf registers 165 Fahrenheit, about 30 minutes more.

6.Remove the pan of meat loaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, carefully empty the boiling water from the roasting pan. Holding the loaf pan with oven gloves or pot holder, carefully pour the juices from the pan into a sauce boat or heatproof cup. Cut the loaf crosswise into 8 slices, taking care to cut completely through the bacon with each slice. Serve each slice drizzled with pan juices.

Serve with mashed potatoes, or either hot or cold in a sandwich made with focaccia.

Moisture is a key concern and one of the reasons Wolfgang recommends baking the meat loaf gently and slowly in a water bath, made by setting the loaf pan inside a baking pan filled with water in the oven.

IMHO, the CS location in the Marketplace is far better than the Cafe and the meatloaf is my favourite meal there. The sauce is wonderful. Allthough I would agree there are too many onions I have never found that to be too much of an issue as my kids are always happy to help out.

I think of the meatloaf and the Butterfinger cupcake from Staring Rolls almost every day!

On a side note, my son had one of the pizzas at WPE and it was awesome too.
