Trying to get rid of one ADR so we don't have to pay OOP for one big ADR. Plus on our off day we really don't want to be stuck to a ADR so wondering if WGPE is as good as WGP? I realize the selection won't be as big but from photos looks pretty yummy..:thumbsup2

Try as I can, I do not recognize your restaurant abbreviations. Also, you have different acronyms in the heading and the body; which is correct?

I can't figure it out either. Can you tell us what you are talking about?

Oh wait, I think I have it-

Wolfgang Puck Express

vs

Wolfgang Puck

The only thing I can come up with is Wolfgang Puck Express versus Wolfgang Puck Dining Room.......

Am I close?

We haven't been to WGP, only express. We loved it, and found it to be the best use of our CS credits. We actually ate there twice and tried different things there each time and loved them all. I think we had a pizza or two, and I think I remember a chicken ceasar sandwhich that was really good.
It was nice to get away from the burger, hot dog CS places for some real food.

I've been to both, and prefer WPE to the WPC. You have to realize you are comparing a QS restuarant to a TS restaurant. Lots of folks on the DIS have said they liked WPC, but we found it overpriced, and the food just so-so.

The atmosphere and decor of the cafe are cool. We really like the open kitchens at both. I probably would have enjoyed a table with a view of the chefs at the Cafe. I should also mention that we didn't try any of the desserts, though they looked really good. Also, part of our problem was a sub-par waitress. Among her numerous faluts, forgetting some of our food and bread. So maybe better service would have swayed my impressions more favorably. All the tables around us had bread, and it's not like we didn't order entrees (As in I wouldn't expect bread if we had ordered pizza.) As for the food, the sushi wasn't bad, but the kid's pizza was a joke. I think I also ordered ravioli and found the portion very skimpy - not enough to fill me by far.

Now compare that to the Express, where the portions are quite good for the price. For a QS, the options are diverse. They have yummy pizza with unusual toppings, and other creative menu items. Last time I was there, they had homemade potato chips. They wern't the best thing I've ever tasted, but it was kind of an unusual thing for a QS place. The pasta has also been good there, and they use high quality ingredients -like good bacon. The kids' portions were good. I also like outdoor tables. But it is disposible plates and silverware.

We haven't eaten at too many other places at DTD. When we go, the WPE is our favorite place to go, and it's inexpensive. Of the places we've tried though, HoB was pretty good. It's a certain type of food, so you have to all be in the mood for that type of food, but it was good the last time we went. (2005)

I've never eaten at the Wolfgang puck express at DTD but we have one down the street from us in Atlanta. They have some good things and it's better then a regular counter service or fast food. I'm not a big fan of their pasta dishes but their pizzas, sandwiches, and chicken fingers are pretty good.

I've never eaten at the main Wolfgang Puck, just the Express.

One reason for my confusion was Wolfgang is one word (it is a person's name) and not two words, and so the problem was what would have the first word starting wth a W and the second with a G within WDW.

I have been to Wolfgang Puck Express twice and really enjoyed it both times.:)

Had great food there, havent eatien at the WP Cafe yet. I will the next trip. I think it would be a good way to not use a TS credit one night. It was great food but you are comparing TS to CS so the portions will be smaller. Plus the dessert is just a cookie. The entree however (we had two wood oven pizzas), was great.

Earl of Sandwich is good too IMO if you are going to DTD and don't mind huge sandwiches for your dinner.

My dd and I ate at Express a few weeks ago. She had the chicken ceasar salad and I had the BBQ chicken quesadilla. Both were delicious! We will be returning in September.

We ate at both Wolfgang Puck Cafe and Wolfgang Puck Express early this month.

I preferred Express to Cafe. We had the same person serving us at both places, too! She was great. As far as portions go, DH had a salad at Express, and it was almost too much for him to eat.

I had the same dessert (Creme Brulee) at both spots, and they were yummy - the only difference was in the presentation (Express was in a disposable container).

It is on our three-restaurant-list (CS and TS) that all three of us agree we would go back to. The other two are Le Cellier and Pecos Bill's. ;)
