Have a few questions with WOC and the CC preffered section.

1. During our stay WOC is only at 8:15pm. If we had dinner at 5pm would that allow us enough time? (This WDW vet is so used to creating an obscene amount of time inbetween meals with ADR's .)

2. What time should we get to the WOC area with CC section if there is only one show that night? I am thinking we might want to get there a little earlier than normal. What time would you DLR experts suggest?

Thanks for any helpful hints and advice! :thanks:

I was just there, and I got a fast pass first thing in the morning (9am during EME) which got me a blue FP. We showed up at 7pm, and we could have gone basically anywhere in the blue section, including up front on the boardwalk. We found spots near a railing that was protecting some rose bushes, so we were maybe one tier back from the water. These were fairly decent standing spots. Not close enough for my likes, but we stood farther back at the request of my sister, who did not want to get wet. I'm sure a lot of people would have considered where we were standing to be the "best" spots in the house, because 1: You don't get wet, and 2: there is no one directly in front of you.

The FP will tell you to show up between 7:15 and 8:15pm. I would show up at 7, 6:45 at the earliest. Unless you're going to WOC on a weekend evening, you'll be fine and you'll have your pick of spots, even if the line looks "long" when you show up.

Thanks, Rainforest_Elf! :flower: I think we are still going to go to dinner at CC, but if we change and go the FP route I will show up at 7pm. :thumbsup2

I heard that if you do have the preferred section from CC you can show up later, does anyone know if that is correct? If we show up at 7:45 would we still get a good spot? :confused3

You have a preferred section with everyone else that ate at Carthay that day and got passes... so you can show up a little later, but you really don't want to be behind people unless you are unusually tall and can see over heads... I would be there at least 45 minutes early, if not a whole hour to get the best standing area I could.

Which ever way you choose just get to the World of Color viewing location at least 1/2 hour before it says on the ticket.

When the line moves in grab a spot near a railing or near a walkway rope if you choose the center circle area.

Make sure you save plenty of space. Aka sit down and spread out your legs. If you do not do this other guests will move into your personal space which could make it hard to be comfortable during the show.

My tip would be a 99 cent package of disposable table sheets that you can buy at a 99 cent store. They do wonders in informing others of your space.

For fun try the Glow with the Show ears as well.

If you want your choice of spots then show up at 7 - 7:15. If you wait until 8:00 like the CCR ticket says then you will still get a spot, but it will not necessarily be great. That was my experience last week when there was one show.

There's a lot more info on this toward the end (and first page) of the WOC superthread, so be sure to read that before you go.

Your 5PM at CCR should be fine. If you want to for sure get a decent viewing spot then show up at WOC viewing area 90 minutes before the show and know where you want to go before hand. You might get away with 75 minutes early. I would not recommend 60 minutes early.

If you get a fast pass in the morning will you still be able to fast past other rides during the day? What are the dates for WOC?

This is a good tip. A little more expensive but multi-purpose are the rain panchos they sell in the gift shop by GRR (ask at the counter). They keep you dry on the wet rides and are good for sitting on to mark your spot for the shows.

From what I understand, the WOC FP is not really a traditional FP. It is just your ticket to get into the show. So you should be able to immediately go and get another FP for something else!

ETA: WOC shows every day! You can look at the official Disneyland website for times info.

Hi, I may be a little late since you are there tomorrow. We just got back last night. We saw the WOC show on Thursday. I have to use a device I get in the guest relations, anyway, I went inat about 3 pm to get it, real late and they said no problem, was handed the device and ticket to yellow section, was told to show up 1 hour early. We showed up 20 minutes early, was taken in the yellow section and was second tier, front middle along the gate, perfect seating, was not crowded at all. I only have one other experience about 2 years ago and then it was so crowded I could not see or hear anything and that was after standing in line for an hour to get the pass. It was a great show and even blind I could see and hear it from where I was. No problems, and what I missed the device told me so it was great.

Hmmm... I booked a dinner at CC about a month ago and told Disney Dining that I was looking to do WoC. They booked us on at 6:50 and now I see that there is only 1 show that night at 8:15. Think they might give us passes for a different night?

As far as I know, they do not give out passes for a different night, only the for the night you are dining. If you want to do WOC that night, best reschedule. :)

This is true. This is a separate FP and it does NOT interfere with any of the ride FP's. If you are in the park for Early Hours you will most likely end up with a blue one and we got great seats!

I agree with this! We just saw WOC last night and got yellow FP's with a picnic lunch (which was great because we picked it up on the way to WOC at about 6:50pm and ate it after we grabed our spots :thumbsup2) but I also got blue ones from the early morning hours so we used those! I would def get there around 7pm even with reserved seats. Or someone else will be in front of you. One other note with the picnic- I loved that my kids got light up bracelet WOC souvenirs in their meal! Kept me from having to buy a light up toy ;)

No, you have to use them the same day. I also suggest you rebook for an earlier time. I'd allow 60-90 minutes to eat and enjoy the atmosphere and then another 10 to get to the FP area.

DD16 and I did the WoC dining at CCT, we did lunch and got FP for the first show, we got there about 30 minutes prior to show time and had no problems getting a really great spot. But there were only 2 of us so we didn't need much space.
