So I am debating on getting fastpasses or picnics. Our family is short...I am 5 2 dh 5 5 oldest dd is 54in middle 46in and youngest is 41. Should we get fp or picnic? Another thing is that I am not sure we would like anything in the picnics. Help please.

I'm short as well at 5'2" and DBF is probably 5'5" or 5'6". We've done both FPs and the picnics and I personally think that the picnics were subpar. We didn't like our picnics, except DBF ate both of the apple crisp things :goodvibes If you're willing to get to the seating plaza then you have a very good chance of getting a railing spot. In our last WOC adventure, DBF and I had Red section FPs and we followed the very very VERY front railing right next to the water until we were in the middle of the lagoon. It was the best view we've EVER had, including the reserved dining section we had for our dinner at Ariel's Grotto back in October.

Overall, it just takes good planning and the willingness to secure a spot early. It's fine for us because we sit down in our spots and play Trivial Pursuit on DBFs Ipod until showtime :goodvibes And either way, it'll be amazing to watch :thumbsup2

The picnics give you FP's for the same sections as the FP machines give for free early in the day (blue and yellow), so you're not getting any better of a spot by paying. I really only recommend the picnics for those that are arriving to the park later and won't be around in the AM to get a blue or yellow FP for free from the machines at GRR.

In your case I recommend getting the free passes and line up the full 60 - 90 min before the show that they allow and dash to get a spot at a railing.

If you do a picnic, you will get a yellow or blue show pass. If you do the FP line you could get yellow, blue or red. If you do a dinner package you get a special preffered dining area. In any case you have to plan to get against the rail in any tier of any section to get an unobstructed view.

I'm short and we did well with a spot at the top of the stairs in the preferred dining area. It meant the people directly in front of me were slightly lower and it was a great view. (And we did not have to be there quite as super early.)
