Typical of our luck :) We went to Ariels Grotto for dinner so we could get good viewing - and did. Then towards the end after the Pirates section the show just stopped in mid tune. A couple of minutes later they announced the show was cancelled.

I thought it was just a technical issue but also saw some security folks head down to the front of the dining reservation area. I walked down there to listen in and turns out some fight broke out and they'd had to shut down the show! Such a shame... We were standing just up above that "wet" area at the very front and didn't see anything but we weren't looking....

Do you know if the fight broke out causing the show to stop, or if the show stopped and a fight broke out?

Not 100% sure but the jist of what I was hearing was a fight broke out and they decided to shut down the show.

We were there - yellow section towards the middle. It was our first time at WOC! How much of the show did we miss out on???

I am GUESSING it was technical difficulties that initiated the problem. It is possible that they were working to fix the problem and then the fight caused cancellation.

I was in DCA (not in front but around Paradise Bay, hanging out/kinda watching the show) and the lights in the buildings around the whole bay--including The Little Mermaid--were going off and coming on at different times prior to the cancellation, which isn't normal. For a while the area I was in behind the show was lit up just like regular night lighting for the area (during WoC the lights are normally down so that it's almost completely unlit over there).

The regular loop music was playing on the far side of the bay too (I'm not sure if that is normal but I don't THINK it is?--I thought the WoC music normally overrode the loop music).

I'm sorry to you and everyone else who missed the full show! If I recall correctly it cut off shortly after Mufasa's death (I think they sang the lyrics "So close" and that was it). Probably the worst place I can think of to cut off the show! The water screen or maybe multiple screens stayed up for a minute and then I saw people filing out, and then the cancellation was announced.

I'm feeling bad for the guest relations CMs too!

Basically the happy ending and finale. :(

The next night it started and right after the Prep & Landing segment all you could see was water and nothing else. I thought it was quite a dud but then they stopped it, said they had technical difficulties and they were going to try to restart it. Being already tired and crabby, after about 10 minutes of waiting we decided to head back to the hotel. Next day while in the Paradise Pier store, a woman said they got it working again and it was great. They seemed to have a lot of difficulties when we were there -- Pirates was down for awhile, BTMRR was down, just as we were going to get on Snow White, it went down, the next day in the morning it was still down, Peter Pan stopped working on a friend of ours. We were quite surprised by all the problems.

We tried Snow White on Wed night but it was down. The next morning they said it was opening up so we queued up, but after waiting a bit, we opted to bail. Someone asked the CM how those who were beyond the turnstile were going to get out and the CM replied "That's a good question." I didn't stick around for the answer. ;)

We canceled our Ariel's Grotto reservations for Tuesday night because I was too pooped to try and jockey for a good spot in the viewing area. Glad I did. There is no way we would have been able to stand there and wait for the show to start back up, what with an already cranky 3.5 y. o.
