Since my original post, we have decided to go, mostly since we live in KY and probably won't be back to DL for some time. IF they decide to bring WOC to DW, only then would we have a chance to see it. That is a few years away, at best, IMO.
Although it is pricey, we are doing the WOC dining package. I think it will give us our best bet to get a decent viewing area. We don't usually camp out for viewing parades, but we did wait an hour and 1/2 last year for Fantasmic at DW and it was totally worth it. My kids (ages 7, 5, & 5) are troopers, however, we come armed with drinks, snacks and some card games or something for the kids to do to help pass the time.
So here we are with less than a week away to our trip and we couldn't be more excited! To "TechGuy", it sounds like we will be there the same time as you! Good luck to you and your family. I hope you all have a magical experience. I never expect less from Disney, and I am sure this will be the same!
