We're going to watch WOC for the first time in a few weeks and we have dinner reservations for Ariel. I understand that the meal comes with FP to the reserved area but I was wondering if anybody who has dinner reservation still has gone to get the "regular" FP?

The reason why I ask is because I want my family to get into the reserved area. Hopefully, we'll be first in line so they can get right up to the railing and have an unobstructed view but I want to actually record the show on my camcorder and standing that close, I don't think I'll be able to capturing the entire on my camcorder. (Not wide enough angle) My thought is, I take my family to the railing and have them hang out and I'll try and get the FP so that I can get to the fire hydrant and do my recording from there.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

Each guest needs their own WOC fastpass, either the Preferred Dining or Normal (blue, yellow, red). The fastpasses are collected when you enter the viewing areas dedicated to each type, so your group will not be together.

I like viewing from farther back, in the Blue area (which was formerly part of Preferred Dining). There is no single optimal place to see everything, so you might want to see the show a few times :thumbsup2

There is no problem getting a second regular FP. I did it when I got a WOC picnic. But I did for a separate show because I wanted to see it twice on the same night.

:)

If you want to record the show, I would do as Hydroguy did and get the other FP for the second show and go twice. I'm not a fan of WoC, but I am a proponent of giving everything at Disney a good solid try. You will have a much better chance of taking in the whole experience and enjoying it if you're watching from a primo spot with your family and viewing through your own eyes rather than watching through a camera lens or checking a little screen or fiddling with a camera throughout the show. Our family's rule is to experience something new at Disney first then worry about pictures and/or videos the second time around.
