I tried to find this in the WOC super-thread but it wasn't really clear - we have reservations at Ariel's Grotto for WOC preferred dining on Friday
14th Jan. We're booked in for 5.30pm so will get FP's for the 9pm show. What time should we start lining up? I was thinking 7pm but is this necessary with preferred dining? Thanks.

We did ariels grotto on new years day at 7:20. They were running behind and by the time we had paid and left, it was 8:55! We arrived in the viewing area around 9 (show started at 9:15) and had a great view at the top of the steps. Being adults, we were able to see the show almost perfectly. However, if you have children I would suggest arriving sooner so they can be up at the railing. Preferred dining is so nice because it is SOOO much less crowded.

We did the WOC preferred dining dinner last week (at Wine Country Trattoria). We got there at about 7:40 for the 8:00 show and it was plenty of time. The preferred dining section wasn't crowded at all.

We did the 7:30 PM WOC dining on Dec 11th for 10:15 PM show. The kids wanted to go to ElecTRONica and play video games after dinner - suppose to be for just 30 minutes but my grandson was chosen for a Wii Tron Game competition. It ended at 9:55 PM and we hot footed it over for WOC. The preferred dining section was fairly uncrowded and we were able to walk up to the rail on the second tier. I was shocked as I figured we would probably not be able to get a good viewing considering how late we arrived. Not sure if we were just lucky but it all worked out without our waiting a long time. BTW, the show is wonderful and worth waiting for.

We went the day after Thanksgiving (very crowded park wise) and showed up at 7:30 for the 9 show. We had a railing spot. If the crowds are light I would imagine the PS area be not crowded either.
