if we were to be at DisneyLand park, and want to just pop over to California Adventure for WOC. How early before do you think we should do the hop?

If it helps, we will be there Feb 28/March1st

You'll probably still need a pass for WoC. I could be wrong. (won't be the first time)

I agree, you will probably need the fastpass for WOC. I fyou are not able to get over to DCA early enough to get one you could always try to get a picnic. You can order those in advance.

Wait, you need an extra pass to see WOC? It's not like Fantasmic or the fireworks show where you just go?

Yes, you need a pass for it. From what I understand you cannot really see it otherwise.

No, you do not need a fastpass to see WOC, but you will not be in a very good section. The fastpass willut you in a very good section where you can see the show really well.

From what I've read on here it's not worth seeing if you don't have the good view.. is that true in your experience?

I've only seen WOC once and did the Ariel's dining package so we had an awesome view, but I just wanted to let the OP know you don't have to have a FP. I have friends who have seen it without a FP and while it is not the best view you can still see most of it and they enjoyed it.

no darph you are right, you still need a fast pass to see WOC..

yep, it's not like fireworks or fantasmic, you cannot just go, you will need to get a fast pass to view WOC,

My friends must have benn lucky as they did not have a FP when they saw WOC. I apologize for giving out the incorrect information to the OP!!!

Not always the case actually. I've gone to see WOC without a FP and had an amazing view, better than most of the ones I had when I actually HAD a FP :confused3.

Since they extended the blue section to the entire length of the PP bridge, the area to see without a FP is now pushed up to right next to Ariel's Grotto. If you follow the bridge and keep to the right, the spot will be obvious. It'll be roped off with a small opening for you to enter and will probably be guarded by a CM. it's right on the edge of the water and you get a fantastic view!! Especially for not having a FP :cool1:. But beware, in my experience you should be there AT LEAST 90 minutes before the show time. To be safe, I'd push getting 2 hours before show time :scared1:.

But getting a good view without a FP is definitely NOT impossible!! :yay:

no u weren't wrong, you're probably right, maybe it got changed i thought they still checked for fp's and you had to have one? :confused3..ok i will have to check this out this weekend then.. if that is true, then sorry OP!!

but still check out Hydroguys tips!

maybe also albort will pop on and help us with whether or not one still needs a FP to WOC :) ..

Okay fair enough. So what if I ran into California Adventure in the morning to obtain said fastpasses if we were going to be at DisneyLand for the rest of the day?

Also, I understand that lineups can form pretty brutally for the WOC fastpass machine near Grizzly river run. however, touringplans estimates the days we'll be there will be *very* low crowds. Of course, these are predicted ESTIMATES, but what are people's experience getting these FP's on low crowd days?

I have a follow-up question too. Since the crowds will be lower during my visit as well, is there a way to ensure we get second viewing since that's what we'd prefer? Should we risk not having a FP? Our group is 9 people so I'd rather not do that if possible, but I don't want to have to hang out by GRR for most of the morning to get the spot we want at the time we want. :confused3

Yes, by planning your morning and afternoon at DCA and have a FP runner revisit the GRR FP machine throughout the day to get the show and/or color you want.

Sara, I don't know. I think without a FP you are not "ensured" and the poster wanted to be ensured. That was the basis for my answer to him/her.

If you read my WOC Superthreaad Albort talks about how to see WOC without a FP - outside the official viewing area. If your question is whether you can see WOC in the official viewing area without a FP, I believe you cannot.

Ok, so if one wanted to see WOC with out an FP, they can do it outside the roped area's ..ok. I just wanted a complete understanding as I havn't been keeping up on the WOC as I used to and I was a bit confused...

ok so to ensure a good spot you still have to get a FP. That makes sense.

Thanks hyd's! :goodvibes

We were there last Satuday night and were talking with aa CM who has been working the show since it opened. He said that they are currently not "selling" all the FPs out for the 2nd show. We walked into the CA about 5:30 pm (to pick up our pre-ordered Picnics) and saw the sign at that time still directling guests to the FP pick-up location, so his comments made sense. I believe there is a 2nd show only on Fri, Sat & Sun. -- Suzanne
