WOC picnic dinner or fastpasses?

What is the difference between the passes from each? For convenience I'm leaning toward ordering the picnic dinner (and the cool bag). Any thoughts?

TIA.

They each give you a fast pass for WOC. You can just the fast pass which is disconnected so it doesn't prevent you from immediately getting other fast passes or buy the picnic which will give you the same fast passes.

WOC, does not provide bench seating, like Fantasmic at WDW..Thus your tickets allow you to enter WOC viewing area (standing). In essence WOC dinner packages allow you to enter a more "better" viewing area, for some this does not matter because the WOC "stage" is so wide anyways. WOC picnic packages do not provide reserved seating. So in general you are paying for a better "viewing" area.

For me, I would either go for the sit down meals or no WOC meal at all. As PP said, you'll get the same Fastpass if you go to the FP machine at GRR or if you got the picnic meal, so it's not REALLY worth if if you're getting the meal for the FP. To get the special reservation area, you'd have to go eat at Wine Country Trattoria or at Carthay Circle Restaurant. Don't forget to make your reservations!

To clarify, WoC picnic packages and WoC dinner packages are NOT the same thing. WoC dinner packages do get you a "better" (debatable) viewing area. The picnics give you the exact same FP that you would get at the machines (which don't have long lines anymore). Only get the picnic if you want the meal.

Is the reserved area worth the premium dining cost at wine country trattoria? I didn't see anything in the Carthay circle menu that I thought would appeal to my husband or youngest daughter.

We did the picnic tonight after researching here and another site. We walked right up with no line to get the meals I had paid for online a few weeks ago. I then stood in queue for the WOC yellow fp area with the tickets included in the meal while the kids went with DH and our friend to ride.

I liked the picnic because:

1. I didn't have to stand in another fp line after waiting in the RSR fp line earlier.

2. Less stressful to know dinner and passes were already set up. I'm new to DL and DCA.

3. Restaurants around the area were packed with folks at dinner time. We would have wasted a considerable amount of time waiting in line for food and sitting to eat it.

4. We sat on blanket eating our picnic meals at great WOC viewing spot I grabbed which helped pass the long wait for the kids at a very late time for them.

5. We saved lots of cash by forgoing a fancy restaurant meal. We did have a fancy lunch at Club 33 earlier in the day paid for by DH's friend.

6. I enjoyed my Asian picnic!

I'm happy with my choice to go with picnics.

I ate at WCT last Monday night before WoC. We had a GREAT viewing area, on the stairs just behind the "wet" area. Only my friend and I, and 2 other couples in that little section. It was completely worth it for us.. our reservations were at 6:10pm and we only waited for WoC for about 15 minutes once we walked over to the reserved viewing area.
