WOC first timers

The virtual queue was super easy. Just set an alarm on your phone and join at noon.

Actually, I misunderstood one of our days and got on at 1 pm… ended up being very lucky & even got the 9 pm show.

I definitely recommend getting into the virtual queue.

The dessert party is gonna be a hard sell on my husband because of the cost, plus I read your reservation is typically an hour before it starts? My youngest will tear the entire park down if I try to contain him at a table for an hour lol
You do NOT have to go to your viewing spot an hour before the show. All the seats are good seats, so my family typically walks up about 15 minutes before showtime, gets seated immediately, then gets our treat boxes and beverages to enjoy while watching the show.

To me, the whole purpose of the WOC dessert party, the reason it's worth paying so much for, is to cut down on the stress level. Spending additional time in a queue seems counterproductive, but of course people do it every night.

This is a good point. Alot of people get to the dessert party right when it starts, but others trickle in during that hour between when the party starts and WOC starts. I like to get there early because I'm ready to sit down and relax by then :)

You check in about an hour before the party starts, and that's when you get your table assignment. There's a line for that, but it isn't very long. Once you check in you can go do other things if you want to. I usually check in while my family goes on rides, your whole party doesn't need to be there for check in.

I would love to do this for my December trip this year but I am pretty sure I won't get a reservation, they will all be booked up by the time I try to get mine. Thats the really big down side to living in Australia and booking a Disney holiday, trying to get dining reservations. With the time difference here, bookings open up at 1:00am for us and I'm afraid as a 63 year old who is in bed by 9:30pm that really isn't an option. By the time I get up in the morning and log on there is typically no bookings available for any of the popular restaurants, only those that I don't want to dine at. I will say we did luck out last time at Oga's Cantina. On one of our days we headed into the new Star Wars area early, not to ride rides (we had LL's for those) but just to wander around and take everything in before the crowds got too bad, and they were taking walk ins at Oga's and there was no line or wait, we walked right in. It was a bit early for alcohol so we opted to share a non alcoholic beverage and just sat and soaked up the atmosphere. It was great.
I got all of our reservations in the week before and during our visit, which started the Saturday of the first weekend of Holiday Time. WoC dessert party, Trader Sam’s, Blue Bayou, Carthay Circle (not lounge or outside), Oga’s, and the somewhat easier reservations like Cafe Orleans and Carnation Cafe. WoC dessert party was available more than once.
