WOC Dining Package - Great Experience!

I experienced the WOC dining package last night.

We chose WCT for our package. I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews, but went in with an open mind, not expected it to be bad. Our reservations were at 7:30, but we were seated at 7:15 (as soon as we arrived). Are meal lasted about an hour and forty-five minutes, which we did not mind at all! We welcomed the relaxation.

The starter salad was very tasty. I recommend asking for dressing on the side (but I like very little dressing on my greens). I ordered the chicken with pasta, which was great. I did envy everyone who had the beef though. I didn't order it because I read another review and saw a picture of it here. They changed the cut again, and now it is so tender and flavorful! They were able to cut it with a fork. They also changed how they are cooking the potatoes, which brought out more flavor (we learned all of this talking to the staff).

The desserts were pretty good. I loved the chocolate tart, but wished it was served warm. I am not a Panna Cotta fan, so didn't even taste it.

After our meal, we could hear the first show had started. We did not want to see/hear any of the show, so went over to Glow Fest until WOC ended. We got in line around 9:30 and watched the crowds from the first show exit. Shortly after we were escorted into the viewing area. We found a perfect spot (wasn't very hard), and waited for the show to begin.

I am 5'0'' tall, and had no issues finding a decent spot to see without any heads in my way. I loved that I did not have to wait long at any point, and could enjoy the park until right before showtime. In my opinion, Disney has done a great job with the dining packages and the viewing section provided for those with preferred viewing. I already have another dinner booked late this month at WCT. :) I am also looking forward to trying their non-WOC menu, which looks delicious as well!

It's nice to hear a good review!

Do you think you didn't have to stand around and wait long because you did the second show? When you arrived in the viewing area, were there already a lot of people in there?

Sounds like they are not packing them into the dining viewing area.

We had a great experience also. We went to the WCT and the food was great. We even showed up 10 minutes past our reservation and they seated us no problem. Everything went as smooth as could be.

I was coming to post the same thing. We did Ariel's Grotto though. Ressie was for 7:10 but they were running about 15 minutes late. We knew we could start lining up at 9 for WOC and we were exhausted after doing the park hard since 8am so we wanted a long meal. Both dd and I had the tri tip which tasted great and was cooked to perfection. Also enjoyed the appetizers but since I was the only adult, there was way too much!! Desserts were ok. We tried a bite of each but were less than impressed. Luckily, we were full from dessert so we didn't feel like we missed anything. When we left AG, we went the long way around and got to our spot to line up around 8:30ish since I knew we wanted to be right at the railing. At 9:00, they moved our line forward (very orderly) and we waited in that spot until it was time to be seated. Dd rested on the bench while I talked to a young woman in line. She happened to be a cast member so we had lots to chat about. When everyone from the esrlier show had cleared out, we were taken to the viewing area. We walked right to the railing and staked out our spot. Of course, about 10minutes before we were taken there, dd decided she needed to use the restroom. Being the cruel mom I am (and knowing my dd of course), I made her wait until we had our spots. I then hung our sweatshirts on the rail and asked the group next to us, the girl I had been chatting with, to keep an eye on our spot while we fought like fish swimming upstream, to make it to the bathroom. There was still some time left when we got back so we sat on the ground and made ourselves comfy. When the show started, we stood up and had an amazing view of the entire show. I am so glad we did the dining plan as it enabled us to have a perfect spot. This was most likely our only visit to DL as we live in MI and it is way too expensive for us to travel to CA (we were there for dd's gymnastics). What a wonderful way to end a fun day at DL.

Nice to hear all the good feedback. Perhaps things are more orderly than it was opening weekend.

We went to WCT last Wednesday. We were a little early. I was so worried after reading all the bad reviews. The food was GOOD! Granted, it probably wasn't worth what we paid, but it was tasty! We had the beef, fish and chicken. The breads were yummy, but my kids wanted butter not olive oil and were a little disappointed.

It was nice having a more space in the preferred area, the other areas were so packed. We had room to relax before the show. In my opinion, it was well worth the extra cost

We were at WCT last Wednesday, too. We thought it was the most horrible Disney meal we've ever had! Loved the show though. We got in line at 9:00 pm and had a great viewing area for the 10:15 pm show. I was glad to see it from the preferred viewing area once.

I'm glad that you all had better experiences than we did! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the report ~ we have WOC seating at both WCT & Ariel's this Saturday - we also have an early lunch at Ariel's on Saturday *which we are keeping* we'll stick with WCT for WOC!

What did you order? We were there before 5, maybe it got worse at the night went on. We saw the Pixar parade from there too.

It's nice to hear positive reviews (generally) about premium dining - I was beginning to think we might have made the wrong decision. We have booked a 7.20pm slot at AG on Thursday 7/15 for the 10.15pm show

i'm beginning to wonder if I should have done the later dining for the later show. It seems with the 10:15 show there is less time to "not line up" and wait. Where do they have these people wait anyways?!
