Does anyone have experience with food allergies at the WOC dessert party? Our son is allergic to dairy and nuts.

I'm not so worried about getting value (I figure we're mostly paying for the view), but the last thing I want is for everyone else in our party to get a plate of yummy desserts and have him stuck with a couple of strawberries (or some such thing).

They are very accommodating. Mention it when you book and usually a chef will call to talk to you about specifics. Mention again when checking in to make sure they bring the right plate for him.

My daughter has a peanut allergy but because she does oral-immunotherapy she is able to eat foods that are cross-contaminated with peanuts. When we did the dessert party I asked to make sure none of the desserts contained peanuts. They offered us a fruit tray, which we didn't need because there weren't any actual peanuts in the desserts but I believe the fruit tray was the alternative for those with allergies. If it's any consolation, my daughter (7yo) did not like the desserts and asked if she could just get the fruit tray next time!

I noted my allergies when I made our reservation, and a chef from the central bakery called and emailed to ask about my specific needs. Everything was noted. When I checked in, the CM with the notepad knew about my allergies and the CM at the podium gave me a different colored wristband to alert the other CMs that I would get a special dessert plate. Our server went over my plate with me to make sure that I would be able to eat everything. Be clear and thorough in your communication. Everything should be fine.

I was looking at booking another dessert party and I see I can note my husband's allergies while booking it online. It doesn't ask how many people in the party have the allergies, though. If I mark off corn and gluten, does that mean that both of us will have a corn free gluten free plate?

I haven't done a dessert WOC reservation. But in general, no. At the table, They will ask you which one at your table has the allergy. They are very accommodating and thorough

ETA: I didn't realize dessert parties were done differently. Maybe this helps too: https://www.disboards.com/threads/world-of-color-dessert-party.3489016/page-20
