WOC desert party

I was in a panic when I finally got through and forgot to add a dietary request to my reservation. I can’t see where to do that after the fact. Is there a number that I can call to have it added?

Try to call the general number for Disneyland and they should direct you.
Usually they can still acccomodate day of but makes it MUCH easier if they know ahead of time.
Glad I'm not the only one that did that! Would also love some insight on how to make sure allergy foods are not included on the plate! It does say on my conformation that dietary considerations should be mentioned to the server so I might have to do that. I
Always mention it to be sure ! They always ask me every time even though the lead host knows me :)

I'm shocked that I remembered to enter GF in the heat of the reservation moment this morning. I also emailed Dietary to let them know it was 3 of our party of 4 with the GF restriction. The email worked in Feb for Café Orleans and hopefully will work for WOC. Good luck...:) with that said, we've done this a dozen times and always had the correct GF plates for our family.

If I recall, checking in gets you a wristband so that you can come and go from the dining area. Sounds like the late show guests can check in early, which may give some advantage for entering the party location and picking out your table.

I really hope not. 😂
I don’t want double the crowds on the first viewing. That would be so sad.

My thought was, if you check-in at the earlier window, you will only have one line to wait in when you return for your party. If you don't check-in during the early window, you may have one check in line and then another line to actually enter the seating area. Total speculation.
Yep-- we have gone when they were doing the wristbands (and when they weren't and would give you a card to get back in if you needed to leave the area). Don't worry- I'm sure they will have different colors which will show whether you are for the early or late show. You don't just wander around in the area- they escort you to a table to which they specifically assign your party. I know at one point they were only doing one dessert party a night even though they had 2 shows, but I seem to remember a time where they were cleaning out the area and doing 2 dessert parties a night.

One of the times we went we got put on the back row even though the front row had lots of empty tables at that point, and we nicely asked if we could have one of the empty front tables instead and were told no because everything was pre-assigned. Shortly thereafter they wound up putting some extremely tall people at the table in front of us, and I was irritated. Most areas have high tables with short tables in front of them, but just a couple of spots had 2 rows of high (which is where we got stuck that time). Had the people in front of us not all been well over 6 feet and built like linebackers it wouldn't have been an issue. The next time we went, nothing was pre-assigned- and what table you got was completely based on your spot in line. No telling how they are going to do it now. Just have to wait and see the reports from those who attend once it starts. Really most of the tables in there are fine unless you get unlucky like we did that one time, and even that time we were able to scoot DD's chair where she was fine, DH was tall enough it was okay, and I just had a couple of big heads in my pictures and slightly obstructed view.

Seems like last time we did it or maybe the time before, they were only doing one line and they came by with an ipad (or something like it) and were just checking everyone in in line. The old fantasmic dessert party, you could go up to the podium early, and they would assign you seats and then tell you to come back later when the area opened, so once you had your seats assigned you did not have to wait in line again. They just escorted people when they got there, no real reason to wait in line ahead of the area opening and people just kind of staggered in. I could see them doing something like that to try to ease congestion in the area between parties, but who knows.

Do any of you Disneyland experts have advice for a first timer about which dessert party you prefer and why, the first or second show?
I wouldn't call myself an expert and mostly they are probably the same. I think the pro and con of the late would be:
Pro: More park time at CA if you do do the later
Con: The area might be a lot more congested when you are trying to line up for the later, since there will be a mass of people leaving WOC after the first show, but also a mass of people lining up for the later WOC.
Can't remember for certain, but I feel like we might have done the later showing once and it was fine. I seem to remember them cleaning everything up as we were in line to get in.

Can you still see World of Color from the viewing area at Grand Californian?
You can, but the view is pretty far away and at a slight angle. They do pump the soundtrack of the show through the viewing deck speakers, which is a plus. Arrive at least 30 minutes early as the railing areas that offer a view are taken up pretty quickly.

Thank you so much . This is helpful information ❤️

GO NOW to the App!!! It worked for me!!!

Once you hit the button to go to the website from Reservations. You go back to the App, and it will populate. I hit 8pm on my date, and it populated with WOC Dessert Party, I was able to pick it and check out. This is with an iphone!

Thank you for posting this it worked for me (I'm just delayed in my thanks).

I have a WOC dessert party reservation on 6/14 at 8:00 pm. Do you check-in at 8 pm and the show starts at 9 pm? Or do you have to check-in at 7 pm and the show is at 8 pm? The reason why I am asking is because I have a Lamplight Lounge reservation at 5:15 pm and don’t want to feel rushed at dinner.

Also, if you are booking for someone under 3, you still have to include the infant in the number of your party. This surprised me.
In case of an emergency, they need an accurate head count. The fire marshall wants every head in the viewing area counted (regardless of age or whether they paid or whether they work there).

I was also in a rush. I plan on trying to Al’s in the app to add a dietary restriction.

For dietary requests, try emailing Special.Diets@disneyland.com. In the past, someone would get back to me to confirm my allergies and requests.

Check in is at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm. I think you timed it great.

Have a 7:10 Carthay on a night with a 9:15 WOC dessert available. Would that be enough time to leisurely enjoy dinner, or would you do WOC dessert on a different night with no dinner ADR booked?
If it were us, I would do these on separate nights if you can swing it. I think it is enough time to leisurely enjoy dinner, but you might be too full to enjoy the desserts/beverages for the party. But it may work for you. We, for example, are doing a 5pm dinner to allow for more time for the 8pm check in for the dessert party, but everyone is different. That is just what works best for us. I am sure you will enjoy no matter what you decide.

Thanks. I have a 9:15 party booked for a non-ADR night and will likely keep it that way. We're there for 6 nights so def don't need to stack dining experiences on top of one another. Thank you for the advice!

Kyle from Park Banquets, Banquet Support, DCA just contacted me via email a few minutes ago regarding our allergy listing for the party tomorrow night! The asked how many would require the allergy plate, This is on par with the contact we received pre-COVID and I’m happy they reached out.
