Is the MSEP supposed to continue through the summer? Which version of WOC should be playing this summer?

Thanks!

Thanks!

Over the weekend I heard on the radio that MSEP is leaving after June 18! NOOOO! We were originally going to be heading down to DLAND in April, but change of plans and that trip is not going to be possible so we won't be there until July 6! Bummer!!

As PP said, MSEP is leaving after June 18th, and Disney hasn't said what would replace it, if anything. They also haven't given a reopening date for Fantasmic other than Summer. As of now, there isn't any reason to think that there would be a new version of WOC or that it wouldn't be running all summer. It just came back from a refurb this week, but no one has said that it's different than the version of the original that had been playing earlier this year.

When we were there last year, a different WOC was playing -- it's back to the original now? Surely they will do some sort of evening parade in August even if MSEP is done?

Before last year, we were never into parades so I haven't really kept track of them ... but Paint the Night was awesome so now we're wanting to see a night time parade this time.

Were you there before September? If so it was probably the 60th anniversary version. It should be back to the original now.

And I don't think anyone knows when a night parade will start again. I'd like to think PTN will be back, but there hasn't been an announcement.

I caught World of Color a few times last week once it came back from refurb. I was pleased to see that it was the original version because I prefer that one. I didn't notice any differences from the videos I've seen from before the refurb.

Just my luck! MSEP was at WDW forever! We booked a trip for February of this year and last October they stopped running it there! So yay it's at my home park now, the one I try to visit often if I can (except I just went to WDW for 10 days and am broke) and I just planned a trip in June, starting the 19th, and the last day for MSEP is the 18th! AND I can't change my date :(

I really hope PTN starts on the 19th!

WOC will probably be the original, which is a good thing. Way better than the NPH version.

As for the night parade at DL, I spoke with one of the entertainment managers on my last trip and he said that PtN will definitely be coming back after MSEP. It will NOT be going to WDW. AS for timing, he said that no one really knows yet until the execs make a decision. He said that it's a tough parade to make work because of all the practice it takes to get it going. I wouldn't expect it right after MSEP goes dark. It may take a few weeks.

Before Paint the Night, Disneyland hadn't had an evening parade since the MSEP left! Supposedly PTN will be back this summer, but I wouldn't think that a nighttime parade is a given, necessarily, after they went decades without one...

And as others have mentioned, you saw the 60th anniversary WOC last year, but it's back to the original now (although I could have sworn there were a couple of new scenes when I was watching it on Sunday... Maybe I just have a bad memory).

There were several changes to the original before the first Winter Dreams and then Celebrate. It seems like the one running now is some mixture of a few of the versions.
