does the general store in WL have small grocery items like milk, drinks, bread, etc???
things we might want for our room? or do we have to buy everything at the grocery store before our arrival. Thanks

Yes, you can get all the basics and a little more. Depending how much you need (and how you value your time), you will obviously overpay on every item. If it is just 2 or 3 things, probably not worth a grocery stop but we usually find the savings pretty large. (Especially on bottled water, soda, alcohol)

Small selection of cereal, cold cuts, bacon, eggs, soup, frozen pizza, boxed donuts, milk, juice, bread. There's other things, too.

A 2 liter bottle of soda is around $3.50

But it's there as a convenience.

1/2 gal of milk was $2.99. 1/2 gal of OJ was $3.49. Those are 1/2 gals, not gals.

We had our pasta dinner for the carbo load the night before the marathon. But I forgot parmesan cheese and butter (brought everything else). They had small parmesan cheese containers (1.5 oz) and 1/2 lbs of butter (two sticks). Both were about the price of the regular sized container at the grocery. But we needed them.

You can go to the DVC Website under plan you getaway in the middle of the page in the paragraph it says - grocery lists. They have downloadable lists. I tried to link, but I am not good at that- LOL.

we always buy our eggs at the mercantile. They are pretty reasonable (they were $1.25 in Dec) and we don't brake them in the parking lot in transport!

Isn't the bread and chips the same price as the regular store. No sale I know but the lady at the BW store told me they had to sell these products for the price marked on them from the maker due to Florida law. I don't know what else would be "normal" price but at least these were.

They also have bottles of wine which I thought were a bit pricey, but not highway robbery.
