I have never stayed at OKW, so that part I can not help with. Parking for VWL is in the main lot. Of course you can pull up and have a bellman take yor bags from your trunk, and meet you at your room.
Don't forget, as a DVC member you also get free valet parking at WVL! We use it everywhere, all the time. Even if we're paying, it's absolutely worth the $6 to us.
Hey, I didn't know that. That's sounds like a pretty good perk. Just curiuos, what is considered a decent tip for these guys? Do you tip both when you drop and pick up, or just when you pick up? (I have wondered that for years!)
We normally tip a dollar or two at both ends. FYI, you also get free valet parking at BWV. If you're staying on points your DVC designation will be on your parking pass. If not, just show them your DVC member ID. I THINK you get the free valet whether you are staying on points or not. I know you get it at both BWV and VWL even if you are staying elsewhere.
Also, you get free valet at any DVC resort. So if you go visit the Boardwalk, even if you are not staying there, valet is free. My philosophy is tip at drop-off a couple bucks. Whoever brings the bags up should get a couple bucks a bag. Depending on the number of bags that usually is $5-10. I tend to drive around the grounds a lot instead of using the buses, especially if I am going to another hotel. So these guys see me a lot. I can't afford to give $5 every time I give my car over, but usually I leave $3 when I pick-up my car. The valet guys are great. I have tipped more particulalry at the resort at which I am staying. During December it was quite cold. The car always had the heat going when I got in and the radio was tuned to Christmas music. Also, they have asked if I was going to dinner at the hotel and they have made recommendations or asked how my dinner was when I pick-up. These little differences earn a few dollars more. I am a server, so I know how someone who works for tips can add to their pocket by going the extra step.
