WLV 7 mos out?

How hard will it be to get WLV at 7 mos out for July 2010.. I think this is what we are leaning towards for next year.. unless we try our home resort.. Kidani...

Your home resort is AKV, not Kidani. At the time of booking at AKV, you choose to book a room at either Kidani or Jambo house.

I think that your chances of getting VWL 7 months out depends in part on whether you want a studio, one bedroom or two bedroom.

I imagine that the studios would be the hardest, followed by the 2 bedrooms, followed by the 1 bedrooms.

if you don't need July 3 or 4 - would say pretty good.

July is hot and humdity - most members go when it cooler. Summer and spring break are the same points.

Yup.. I now its AKV, I just put Kidani for some reason... That is where we bought though.

A 2 bedrrom is what we would try to get.

While VWL is almost impossible to get when decorated for Christmas (even if you own there- I was waitlisted for early Dec at 10 months out) other times of the year are not as difficult.

As a pp stated it will depend upon the size of the unit you're looking for. VWL is the smallest of the DVC resorts.

IMO the grounds around it stay cooler than most of the other resorts, due to all the trees and being right on the lake, so is a nice place to be during the hot summer months.

I like your observation. Makes me want to go when the sun is out.

Back to the discussion, you might be okay with a 2 bedroom booked right at the 7-month point. I would make the reservation at 11 months at your home resort and then call at the 7 month point for VWL.

I have booked a VWL studio for several vacations at the 7 month window. My stays have been Martin Luther King weekend in January, this recent Spring Break April 12-17, July 5-14, and August 2-7. I don't think you will have any difficulty but I would be sure to call on the 1st day of the 7 month window.

We booked a studio for Aug 24 at 6 mths and MS said it was wide open.
