I have a woods view room booked for Jan 19-26. I think I would like to be near the lobby or towards the MK boat ramp. I asked DH if he would like to have a room overlooking the lobby if possible and he asked what kind of view would we have? If it's a woods view room, I suspect we would be looking at woods, but what do I know?

Does anyone know what you would be looking at if you have a woods view room that opens to the lobby? What floor would this be? Are there any pros or cons I should be aware of? We LOVE to sit in the lobby and people watch.

I did peruse the WL FAQ threads, but with search disabled, there is just too much information to digest! I have stayed at VWL 2x so am familiar with the general layout.

just guessing, i would think you would not have a view from a window if you are overlooking the lobby. that would be your view. i would think you would need a room on the outside wall of the building in order to overlook the woods. :teleport:

We have had a woods view room that opened to the lobby on both of our visits to the WL. In fact, it was the exact same room both times...5082. I don't know if I would consider it a "pure" woods view, as you can see the parking lot if you turn to your far left, but there are definitely plenty of trees in view, as well as the occasional monorail in the distance. I love having my front door open to the lobby...and probably see it more than the view in the back. HTH

Just bumping this up, as I'm interested in more information on Woods view rooms as well. Would the rooms overlooking the lobby be the most convenient regarding proximity to elevators, restaurants, etc. Also, just curious, what floor are the concierge rooms on? :wave2:

Here is the view we had from our "woods view" room #6120 in January 2003. It was in the next corridor down from the lobby. What used to be considered a woods view room is now a Wilderness Lodge Villas view room, LOL! It wasn't so bad actually, if you looked to the right, it was mostly all trees. And as you can see, it was cold for part of that trip, dippng down to 28 degrees one night, as evidenced by the frost on the rooftops! The rooms across the hall from us overlooked the courtyard/pool area.

I'd recommend last for a room near the end of the hallway in the North Wing. You'll have a view that faces the trees that hide the CR from view and overlooks the otter pond. The stairway at the end of the hallway will dump you out right near the boat ramp. The lower the room number, the closer you are to the end of the hallway.
