How is the transportation at WL if you have an ECV? Anyone in that position stayed there? Since, I think, only half the boats take ECVs, did you take a boat, or find it quicker to take the bus? How was bus service? I don't hear much from people who use the buses from WL, so I didn't know how bus service is.

WL is our favourite resort to stay at, and I use an ECV when visiting WDW. Our last trip was December 2019. I am fortunate that I am able to walk, just not the distances that WDW demands.

We haven't had issues with the buses. At WL, there are not gated lines, so it is a bit of a free for all sometimes, but in my experience the number of people waiting for any given park's bus is usually fairly small.

They have a box for ECVs to wait in at each bus stop.

Coming back from the parks we have sometimes encountered long waits for a bus... not because a bus is too full, but because just no bus is showing up... but not very often.

For MK, I take the bus GOING there. Coming back, I sometimes do the bus, but we will often take the boat. I figure it is easier for them to get an accessible boat from that dock than from the WL dock [though it is probably just as easy]. But also, if there is an issue, it is easier to go to the buses from the MK dock.

An alternative for getting to MK is to take the boat from MK to Contemporary resort and then take the monorail or walk the pathway to MK.

I do love riding the boat though. So we will sometimes just take a walk to the boat and ride it over and back. We will also take the boat to CR and do a "monorail resort hop" and visit the monorail resorts - especially nice at the holidays when they are decorated ! I have done this both walking and by ECV, depending how I am feeling.

ETA: the bus is faster. It is something like a 5 minute bus ride to MK. It is much longer than that by boat. But if you enjoy the boat, nothing beats it :-)

I have to say that because of the tides, I had to navigate a nearly foot difference at the MK one time. Maybe they let more people on, so the boat became lower, I don’t remember. After that, I tend to use the bus more.

Thanks. And did bus transportation work out OK?

They are supposed to have people temporarily get off or move to one side or the other of the boat to fix that issue. I really don't understand why these boats don't have the ramps like the friendship boats do.

LOL we chalk it up to "adventure" - as in "Oh it's always an adventure to load the scooter WL!"
