Can anyone offer their review of the Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner? Am interested in going there or Artist Point...which is better??

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

;)

Better -- well, that's somewhat relative. It depends on the kind of dining experience you want.

Whispering Canyon -- loud, rowdy, fun, loud, pony races for kids, skillet food, loud -- get the picture? Actually, WC for dinner can be fun. However, the atmosphere is very casual and often very loud. The servers run pony races for kids through the restaurant. Some servers bounce the serving tray holders on the floor (sounds like a horse, I guess). Food is average for the price. It can be a lot of fun if you get into the spirit of hooping and hollering with your meal.

Artist Point -- quiet, romantic, set apart, wonderful food, fine dining with a price tag. AP is a great place for a delightful couples-only dinner. The food is very good and I think the service is also very good.

The two restaurants are as different as night and day, so a lot depends on what kind of dining experience you want. As far as food goes, AP is definitely better. As far as sheer fun, WC gets the nod.

If you want a wild dinner with adequate food-- choose WC.
If you want a leisurely, quiet dinner with food that will awaken your taste buds to new experiences -- choose AP.

Thanks for the insightful information. Since it will just be my husband and I, I think we'll go to Artist Point.

Thanks again and enjoy your trip!

I also recommend Artist Point if it is just the two of you. Food and service excellent and a nice relaxed quiet atmosphere.

As Eeyore1954 mentioned the 2 are quite a world apart even though they are practically next to each other:)

WCC is a good family place to eat or if you're really into the rowdy entertainment. I took dd there for lunch last week and honestly if Artist Point served lunch we would have eaten there. Don't get me wrong the lunch was delicious but the rowdiness made my 4 yr old a little nervous.

Trying to compare Artist's Point with Whispering Canyon is more like comparing night and day! Yes, both are in the same resort, but that is where the similarity ends.

Artists Point--intimate, quiet, nice view
Whispering Canyon--- loud, raucous, view of the lobby

Artist's Point-- cuisine
Whispering Canyon--- "grub"

Artist's Point--- servers refined, polite, unintrusive
Whispering Canyon--- loud, sometimes sarcastic, in your face.

Artist's Point--- grownup atmosphere
Whispering Canyon--- preschool run amock!

Now, you may decide for yourselves:)
