We took advantage of the bounce back offer when we were there in February. We are booked at WL 8/29-9/2 for my 40th birthday :cool1: Just me & DH - no kids!!

The rate was about 30% off rack rate. Right now we have a woods view, total is $788 (including taxes). We've stayed at WL before.

I could get a standard room at the Boardwalk for about $235 more than what we are paying now. We've never stayed at the BW before.

I haven't called back & priced out Poly - but I am sure it's more than $235 than the BW would cost; have always wanted to stay there.

Paying the extra $235 for the BW wouldn't break us...but that is $235 that we could spend on something else!

Where would you stay? We do spend a fair amount of time at the hotel; so hotel atmosphere & ambiance is important to us. DH can be swayed any way - so that is not a factor.

If you've stayed at these resorts, which would you choose?

No way would I pay more for BW. We absolutely love the WL. Have visited the BW..and have no desire what so ever to stay there. Most of your dining is out on the boardwalk..which is fine, but it just felt more like a business traveler hotel to me, than anything else. Just my opinion. The WL is magical. It's very relaxing and the quite spectacular in appearance.
Also..and this is just a quirk of mine..the boardwalk pool...freaks me out. The slide is a giant clown head. Screams tacky to me. People being spat out of a giant clown head..:scared:
Have stayed Poly also, and while I would prefer that over the BW..WL is still top of our list.

Thanks for the reply. We love the WL - our first stay as a couple was there. I am more than happy to stay with my first choice, but DH suggested we splurge for my birthday (and who am to argue with that!!) But the accountant in me is stuck on paying too much...but the romantic in me wants the poly!

I've never been to the BW but we're going to the WL (most likely unless I change the reservation!) in Sept so I hope it's great!!

I say splurge for your birthday! We have stayed at both WL and Poly. Poly wins hands down!! You just can't beat the location and the environment! Good luck making a decision! Either way, you are at Disney, can't get better than that

Since its just the two of you adults, you might find that the BW location has an advantage since you can easily walk to Epcot or the Studio. When doing an adult trip, we usually find that we spend most of our time in Epcot just wandering around world showcase in the afternoon/evening. And the "commute" after Illuminations is amazingly easy.

Just wanted to share my thoughts. I have only stayed at the BC and GF but this year we decided to try the Poly in August and are so excited for the trip. It is my new favorite place without ever staying there. Is that possible? Anyways I agree with your husband and think a splurge is in order for you b-day and you get to try someplace new which is always fun. Have a great time whatever your decision may be!!!!!

:thumbsup2 :cool1: :thumbsup2 :cool1: I am soooo excited. I have not told my children we are going. When I was on the phone making ADRs the other day, I was chatting with the CM & she said she did the same thing for her 35th & did not tell her kids they were at WDW until AFTER they returned. I do the happy wiggle (my DH came up with that saying) everytime I think about going...and we just were there only 41 days ago.

Thank you for all your replies!
