WL vs AKL? Help!

I had FINALLY made a decision on WL Deluxe room and decided to book the MYW w/ dining. I went to AAA to book it and AAA can't give me any discount on the room. It's coming up the same price as if I book it myself online. She called and they can't give anything but the AAA standard (aka rack rate) on the Deluxe. Ugh. And now their aren't any 1 bed villas at WL either.

So.. AKL has a deluxe room but it doesn't appear to the same "deluxe" (separate bedroom area) as the WL Deluxe. I can get the AAA discount at AKL and then now puts the difference between the WL Deluxe (rack rate) and AKL Deluxe (AAA Magic Moments rate) at $900 difference.

HElp! We really wanted to stay at the WL but the rate difference is killing me. We are a family of 5 (kids are 7,5,2) and were looking forward to the separate sleeping area. Do I suck it up and book the WL Deluxe and hope for a discount code later on? (We are going Jan 28 - Feb4) or will I be as happy with AKL? (Or is the room too small... researching size the WL is 500 sq ft and AKL Deluxe is 381 sq ft) Any suggestions? Anyone? Help!

I was all set to put down my deposit today and then I learned that the I couldn't get the AAA discount on the WL Deluxe. Now I feel like I'm back to sqare one in my decison making process.

I think that the WL Deluxe room is like apples and oranges to the AKL deluxe room. The WL room has a seperate living area and bedroom. The AKL deluxe is just a bigger standard room. So, if extra space is really key, I would pick the WL room.

Have you considered renting DVC points? It looks like the week you are going, you could get a WL 2-Bedroom for 279 points or a 1-bedroom for 206 points. Given that the going rates tends to be about $10/point, you could probably get the space you want at a price you like better. I'm not sure about availablity through DVC that week, but its not an especially busy time.
