WL Transportation?

I was wondering if at the end of the night at the Magic Kingdom if it is possible to walk back to the Contemporary and then take the boat to get to Wilderness Lodge? What about walking from Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge? I have heard that the boat ride from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom can be kind of lengthy due to stops at Fort Wilderness. I guess I'm just looking for any help on the quickest route from Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom and back.

I returned from WL on 7-14 . While I was there I took the boat from WL to the Contemporary then walked to the MK. The boats that run between the Cont, FW and WL stopped running at 10 . I am not sure if that time is consistent all year round. The question about walking from the Cont to WL is an interesting one, I suppose it is possible but it is a long way. There are no sidewalks and I would bet that securuty would pick you up. I don't think you would save that much time if any if you walked to the Cont then took the boat as opposed to the direct boat.
