Am going to WL in July for 9 days, can't wait!!! Can all you vets indulge me for a few questions on getting around from the Lodge?
What time do boats start /and end running?
What is the best option for leaving the parks at closing: bus to WL,boat to WL, or monorail to CR (or walk to CR) then boat?
How long will it take to get to Epcot,MGM,AK by bus?
Any insider travel tips around the world from WL appreciated!

I can help you with one of your questions:

When leaving MK, the only option is the boat. You cannot take the bus to WL. You can walk to CR and take the boat, but the boats they use to shuttle between the CR and WL are smaller than the boats used just for WL/FW. It's a big boat - in between the size of the ones they use at GF and Polynesian and the ferry.

I think your best bet is to take the boat from MK at night. And what we always did was either leave the park a little before it closed or we'd linger and leave a little after it closed. This seemed to help us avoid the mad dash to the exit.

The bus rides to MGM, Epcot and AK aren't that long. You might be looking at 30 minutes from the time a bus arrives until you're at the park you want to be at. (OK - that's if a bus shows up right away). But still, the transportation was very good when we were there last August. And we had a 1 year old with us, so that made it a bit more of a challenge than on our previous trips, kwim?

Hope this helps a bit!

I believe that there is a bus that will take you from the MK to WL
Take the monarail to transportation center. The boats can be real crowded. Nice to have an opition. Or better yet leave the parks a little early to miss some of the crowds.

Last I remember, you can catch a bus to WL from the Transportation and Ticket Center, so there are options other than the boat from MK (it's possible to monorail or ferry to TTC and catch the WL bus). The bus was shared with Fort Wilderness. The boat sounds like it would be more convenient, but the bus option is there.

You have a number of options.

To the MK, you can either take the boat directly or take a smaller boat to the Contemporary, at which point you can either walk (5 to 10 minutes) or monorail around the Lagoon. Or, alternatively, you can bus to the TTC, then take the express monorail or ferry boat.

For Epcot, you can either take a direct bus (shared with Ft Wilderness), or bus to the TTC and take the monorail.

My faovrite option was the Contemporary boat. It was nice to have a scenic, direct way to visit the monorail hotels, as well as another way of getting to the MK
