WL Transport to MK - good or bad?

Have narrowed my choice of resorts down to 2 and really favouring WL at the moment but my main priority of our trip will be easy access to MK as we have a young family. I have read really differing opinions of WL transport to MK. Does it perhaps depend on how busy the parks are and when you are travelling? We are going April 2006 so I expect it will be busy. Also how long does boat ride take to MK

Thanks

In the morning, the boat goes directly to MK (<10 minute ride). After 3PM, the boat goes to FW first (<15 minute ride) you could wait for the boat (15 min max). Worst case is if you have to wait for another boat because of the amount of people waiting.

FYI, there is also bus service that goes directly MK.

We jutt got back from a week at WL and I thought he transportation was very good. There were plenty of boats running so our wait was never long. We didn't use the bus service but noticed the busses came regularly when we waited for Y&B Club busses the following week.

We just returned from WL too and the boat service to MK was great. Even the couple of times we got to the dock just as a boat was leaving, it was less than 5 minutes before we saw another one coming around the bend. The same was true returning back to WL from MK.

Good Luck!

I thought they only had the boat so it is good to know there is also a choice with the bus. How is the bus service?

What we love about the boats is that most of the time you can keep your children in the stroller and just roll them right on the boat. This works great if they are sleeping or tired.

but, kids tend to love the boat ride and it is a good anticipation builder on the way to MK and a nice "calm-down" on the return trip. Many consider the boat ride simply a bonus - not transportation.

can you take a boat to the poly? or dixie?

There is a boat from MK to Poly. Not sure what you mean by Dixie, unless you're referring to Dixie Landings, which I believe is Port Orleans now. There is no boat from POFQ or POR to MK, although there is a boat from PO to Downtown Disney.

Yes you're right they did have a kiddie pool but it has since been filled in it - not sure when that happened or why. There is no longer a kids club there either - think it is the only deluxe without one. Shame we couldn't afford the Poly to be on monorail link but April 2006 prices too crazy.
