WL to Trail's End-go this route?

Getting from OKW to breakfast at Trail's End, I always thought we had to go to the entrance of FW, park our car, then take the FW internal bus system. Then DH came up with another idea-park at WL, then walk over the path (is it about a mile?) to FW. If you go that way, won't you come out right by Trail's End, at least that end of FW. Does anyone foresee any problems doing that? Or am I the only one who never thought of that before, and that's what everyone does?

why don't you just take the bus to Magic Kingdom and then take the boat to Fort Wildnerness?

Since DVC members valet park for free, we go over to WLV and valet park and take the boat to TE's. Of course, we always have to stop at the WL store to do a little shopping too. And then stop at the pool bar for an adult beverage -- they make great margaritas there!

I would vote for taking the BOAT---either from MK, WL, or Contemporary.

Doing as others have said to park at WL and take the boat will probably be faster than walking, but if you and DH like to walk, it is a lovely path that runs between the two resorts. I ran from FW to WL and back several times on my last trip and each time I saw multiple deer - so close you could almost touch. So, if you're a nature lover or just wanting the exercise, it's a great plan. I'd guess it's a little less than a mile from WL to FW. And yes, it does place you in the right area of FW to get to TE.

So, if you're a nature lover or just wanting the exercise, it's a great plan. I'd guess it's a little less than a mile from WL to FW. And yes, it does place you in the right area of FW to get to TE.

Yes, we are big nature people and we're birders. So although the boat might be quicker, that walk sounds nice. I was just wondering if it was "doable".

It's definitely doable, and you'll enjoy it.
