WL to Theme Parks - Best Way to Each?

Newbie here and I have alot of transportation questions. We are staying at WL in Nov and I was wondering about tranportation to MK, Epcot and AK. We are travelling with DS5 and DD7, so the fastest may not be the "best" way to go since some routes may take longer but would be a more enjoyable experience for the whole family.

WL to MK: Sounds like taking the boat :boat: is the best route, much more fun than a bus - but how long does it take?

WL to Epcot: Is there a bus right from WL to Epcot, or do you have to switch at TTC? Would taking the boat to the contemporary, getting on the monorail to TTC, and then switching to a monorail to epcot at TTC be a stupid idea or would it be fun and not too long? How much time will each take?

WL to AK: Is there a bus from WL to AK or do you have to switch at TTC? Any other ways to get there that may be better (boat, contemporary, monorail and catch a bus to AK at TTC?) How much time to get to AK from WL?

I know these are very boring questions, but any answers or suggestions would be very helpful.

I cannot wait until we can just use wonkavision to get around the parks :teleport: I heard that is coming in 2006 ;)

Your only choice for AK and the Studios will be to travel by bus. It's been a couple years since I stayed at WL, but at that time the bus was shared with (IIRC) the Poly and GF. No stops at TTC. Same was true for Epcot, but with Epcot you do have the choice of using the monorail - although it does not stop at your resort.

To ride the monorail to Epcot (starting at WL) you could (when we last stayed):

1) (my personal preference) Take a boat to the contemporary, ride the monorail to the TTC and change to the Epcot monorail.

2) Take a bus to the TTC and board the Epcot monorail.

3) (least efficient) Take the boat to MK, get on the Express monorail to the TTC and change to the Epcot monorail.

The bus may be faster (not sure), but with kids it's probably worth the effort to take the long ride on the monorail to Epcot at least once. Don't forget to ask if there is room up front with the driver! Ask one of the CMs in the loading area BEFORE the monorail arrives.

There are no buses to the TTC from WL. There are direct buses from WL to MK, AK/BB, Epcot, Studios, and DTD/TL.

Thanks, Tyler. We were last at WL in '02 and I guess things have changed quite a bit w/regard to the TTC and resorts.

So I'll revise my assessment and say the most efficient way to get to Epcot is the bus. I think it would be fun at least once for the kids to see the CR and ride the monorail, though.

:cool1:

The boat ride to MK from WL is less than 10 minutes before 3:00 pm. When I go to Epcot from the WL, I sometimes take the MGM bus if it comes before the Epcot bus. I then take the boat from MGM to Epcot. This will take longer, but I enjoy the boat ride. The boat ride from MGM to IG at Epcot takes 25 to 30 minutes.

I will miss the bus from WL to TTC. This was a good way to ride the monorail to or from Epcot.

They are not boring questions at all. These are actually the questions I had in mind. I have stayed at WL couple of times, but never used their transportations. We were there just to enjoy the resort. But I said to myself that next time we stay at WL, we are going to use the bus and the boat. Just don't know the best ways to get to all the parks. So I am glad you asked these questions!! :flower: Thanks!
