WL to DTD and back

How long is the bus ride from Wilderness Lodge to DTD in the morning? My DH and I need to make it to DTD to get our Disney Rewards cards (yup...I waited too long to order them), and we are thinking about going the morning of our first full day there. The only problem is that we are there with a bunch of other people and we need to make this a fast trip so we can meet up with them back at WL to go to Epcot.

I was considering taking a cab, but am not really wanting to spend the money... anyone happen to know how much a cab ride is to DTD from WL?

I suggest taking a taxi. There is usually one waiting outside the Lodge in the morning (just down from the main Lodge entrance). The bus trip takes between 25 and 40 mins one way, depending on whether the bus stops at the GF or FW to pick up guests. A taxi won't cost the earth and will be far more convenient.

Why can't you go to DTD and then take a bus from there to meet the OPs at Epcot? From DTD you would be travelling way back past Epcot to the WL just to return back that direction. Plan on a meeting place in Epcot and go to DTD and then take a bus to Epcot and meet up with your party. After you go through the ticket turnstiles, there are a bunch of monuments in front of the Epcot Ball, you could meet up there.
