I will be the one to say I didn't like WL. Not the resort itself. But the staff. From the lady who checked us in, to the managers, to the mousekeeping. We had a horrible stay. We ended up with 2 nights free (out of 6), dining and all and bumped to Club Level (benefits only, rooms were sold out)! The hotel admitted serious fault. Apologized over and over. We weren't having typically issues either. And they realized that. Now, if we could have dealt with our valet guy from check in for our entire stay for EVERYTHING, it would have been great. He was great, what I expected the rest of the staff to be like. And the lifeguards were great!
Now the resort itself was beautiful! Loved the grounds. Loved the Courtyard and Pool! Loved the hottubs, even tho I didn't realize that the bottom wasn't flat (made to feel like a real hot spring) which made me fall into some guys lap and twisted my ankle. My fault and the guy --and everyone else, including me-- got a good giggle out of it! I didn't like the rooms that much. But I knew I wouldn't before I even arrived. It was more the bedding and the wall border. The rest I thought was nice. Esp the headboards! Oh, and my kids LOVED LOVED LOVED everything about WL!
I thought Roaring Forks was fine for QS. I loved the Turkey on Focaccia. And it was HUGE! I am big on sandwhiches and soups, so Roaring Forks was right up my alley. And the salad station was awesome too! But I really wasn't expecting anything great. Just a typically QS hotel place. So we were happy with it. We didn't eat anywhere else on WL property.
I don't think I had the typically experience there. But it really turned us off from going there. Not to say we won't try it again someday. But not right now.
Adding, because I forgot to put it. We were in rooms 4053 and 4055, Courtyard View. I loved our location. Loved the view of the Courtyard. It really is prety. And we weren't close enough to the pool to get alot of the noise. And at night, it was so nice to sit on the balcony and listen to the spring.
