Are there hairdryers in the rooms?
Also, I thought I read somewhere that not all rooms have balconies. Can someone shed a little light on this? I snagged a room for this Thursday (just last week I got it), and went with the Lodge instead of CBR BECAUSE I prefer to have a balcony. Now I am wondering if there is a chance I won't get a balcony because I only have a standard view. Could have saved a couple hundred. Am I worrying for nothing?

There are hairdryers, and I believe that all rooms have balconies. Check out Deb's site www.allearsnet.com. There's all sorts of info about each of the resorts. We stayed at the WL last Dec. and LOVED it!!

All rooms have balconies, with the exception of 2. 2 is ground level and has a patio. They all have a couple of chairs & a small table.

All rooms also have hair dryers, irons, and boards. The hair dryers are the "typical" wall mounted hotel style.

Enjoy the lodge! Don't forget to check out the 1st page of the WL faq, part 5 thread. Anything you'd ever want to know is there!

Like Kinberle said...all rooms have balconies. HOWEVER...please note that rooms on the 6th (and 7th , which is concierge level so you won't be put there unless you are paying extra for concierge) have SOLID balconies. If you enjoy sirting on the balcony and taking in the scenery (as my DH and I do) you do not want a room on the 6th or 7th floor. You have to stand to see over the ledge of the balcony. I always say...I would prefer a "lesser" view and have a room on the 3rd, 4th or 5th floor with a "slatted" balcony...than have an upgraded view but have a solid balcony.

Hope this helps...have fun at my favorite resort!

Our woods-view room on the first floor, #1024, had a patio with two chairs and a small table. Directly in front of the room was a pond with a 'bubbler' at one end, reminiscent of the large hot springs in Yellowstone National Park.

There was a ton of wildlife, especially birds. Mallard ducks walked up to our door daily seeking snacks. Herons and egrets fed on the minnows in the pond, and one morning we were treated to the sight of a pair of otters chasing each other thru the water! Cottontail rabbits fed on the new grass, wary of the red-shouldered hawk that perched nearby. It was quiet and serene, and the only thing that broke the spell was the monorail when it would appear through the tree-tops! At night we could watch 'Wishes' from our beds, and hear the trains in the MK sound their goodnight whistles as they headed for the barn.

To this country boy, it was one of the best rooms that I've ever had at WDW.

I am so encouraged about what you said regarding WL, we just booked it for our June stay and we can't wait. It sounds so incredible. A far cry from POP where we stayed last year. Don't get me wrong, we loved POP, but it is very loud, and I am looking forward to the quietness and peaceful surroundings at WL
