WL and villa's sharing the same pool.
Visiting late June/early July.

Does the WL pool with the slide get very crowded ?

Can we use the villa pool ?
How long is the walk from the WL ?
Towels available at the villa pool ?
Can my DS do cannon balls into the villa pool ?
Is the villa pool very small ?

Thanks :)

Though I don't think it's officially labeled that, the VWL pool is the smaller "quite" pool at the resort. They do have towels at the main pool. It's not a long walk between pools.

As for "crowded". The WL pool is one of the smaller pools at WDW, but the number of rooms at WL and VWL is one of the smallest of the WDW resorts too. June/July is a busy time of year, so the pool will be too.

Doing cannon balls in ANY pool with many people in it would be dangerous.

Are there towels available at the pool?
Towels are available at the pool by the pool bar. They are also located by Hidden Springs Pool at the Villas,

Pools:
All pools are outdoor and heated
One Main feature pool with a slide (Silver Creek Springs Pool)
Silver Creek Pool Hours Lifeguard/Slide
9:00a.m.-10:00p.m.
One quiet pool located at Villas, Hidden Springs Pool (No lifeguard on duty)
Kiddie pool
Three Jacuzzis (Two next to Silver Creek Springs Pool one at Villas next to Hidden Springs Pool)

The line to go down the slide can get backed up as the lifegaurds make each child follow all safety rules.

While a guest at The Wilderness Lodge you may use either pools, the Hidden Springs Pool is in fact part of the Villas and is refered to as the quiet pool which gives you an idea of the pace of the area "quiet" My nephew says he likes The Talking Pool better.

Not sure about your son doing cannon balls into the villa pool, it would depend if there where other guest it would disturb. The pool over at the Villas is a small pool. The rules are posted on information boards at each pool and hottub location.

We were just at WL 2 weeks ago and the resort seemed pretty full. We tried (I say tried) to sit by the main pool, but there were no chairs available. This has made me a little nervous about our July trip, which I have the WL reserved for 10 nights. We had to sit in chairs near the bar because there was nothing available near the pool. Entire families (including all of the kiddies) throw their towels and such on the lounge chairs and are gone until it's time to go back to their rooms. I wish they would limit the chairs to maybe 2 per family or something fairer. Since my GS stays in the water the entire time, I never get a chair for him. Been thinking seriously about changing my ressies to CR. We were there last summer and never had a problem with space at the pool. We walked over to the WL Villa pool and it was crowded, but not filled to capacity. The WL pool is so small, there is not much room to stand without interfering with others' playtime.
