Hi! Planning a May 2017 trip and need some help. Last 4 trips we have stayed at WL and love it. Love the convenience of the boat to MK as well as the boat to CR. Also love that it's a smaller reaort having just the one building...not including vacation club, of course. We just got back from this beautiful resort which was our first trip with our one year old son. For a one year old, I still love the proximity to MK but I was thinking maybe we should try YC in May. WL has a kiddie pool area, but I think the baby will like playing in the sand and water at SAB. Plus we have never stayed there which is exciting. But proximity to DHS and Epcot is not as exciting as proximity to MK. Maybe it will be nice to have the Boardwalk so close? I need help!! Anybody stayed at both? In Summer? With a toddler???

Hi, I've stayed at YC and WL in summer, but without any toddler. These are two of my favorite resorts.

I have stayed at both. While I do like WL, I prefer YC. YC to me is convenient to more than WL is. You are walking distance to Epcot, HS, and the Boardwalk. SAB is a great pool. I love the Cape May Cafe for on site character breakfast and the seafood buffet at dinner is awesome. Yachtsman Steakhouse is great too. It is personal preference, but I like the room decor better at YC. I think you can't go wrong with either one, but I'd try something new and go for YC if I were in your shoes. I like tryingdifferent resorts because they all have something unique to offer and those differences keep things feeling exciting and fresh!

I love BC, have stayed there several times. However, I would not stay there for SAB with a toddler. We went when the kids were small, SAB is just really big. It was stressful for me. Returned when kids were older and loved it. Can't beat proximity to EP and DHS.

Yes, we stayed at both when our twins were toddlers! First, when our girls were age 2, they didn't care where we stayed or which parks we went to. But the pool? That was a big attraction for sure! The YC/BC pool (SAB) was absolutely perfect for toddler ages....the shallow pool/sandy bottom section simply can't be beat. Some days, we stayed at the pool the entire day just playing in the sand! We found SAB to be the most relaxing pool experience in Disney -- I think because we didn't have to worry about falls on concrete (since it was all sand), and also that the water was very shallow (so they could walk and splash). My twins stayed together and always stayed right with us, so we never had concerns about chasing them or anything like that. DH would grab us a couple adult drinks and I remember like it was yesterday that we'd all sit in the mounds of sand and build castles and tunnels, etc., fun times!

As a side note, we preferred BC over YC, but that's just a personal taste. We found the BC to be more lively and that's what we wanted when our kids were toddlers. Now, my kids are older and I'm contemplating trying the YC again someday. It surely is a beautiful resort!
