I keep vacillating. We always went to swan pre baby. Our DD will be 2 this summer when we plan on going to Disney. I have booked Swan b/c I am a Starwood member. We may or may not go to the parks. It depends if she has dropped her morning nap or not by then.

Has anyone brought their children to both resorts that could provide a comparison? WL is near Fort Wilderness which seems to have a lot of activities for kids if we don't go the parks. I like that you can take the boat to MK if we decide to go there (that would be the park to bring her to). But Swan also has the awesome pool and beach. I have accumulated starwood points for 2 free nights, but these could be saved for future travel. Swan has a crib, which is a big big perk, but I read recently on another post that Deluxes provide cribs as well (I thought it was just pack and plays). Ahh!! Help!

I pretty much guarantee she will drop the nap by then - my kids dropped it by 18 months, and they were NAPPERS. Since she is only 2, I'd base it on what I would enjoy more (2 year olds would be happy at a motel 6 with a sprinkler to play in). The nice part about the Swan is that you could walk to two parks - wouldn't have to get her out of the stroller if she fell asleep.

I don't think your 2yo will really care :) Pick whichever you'd be more happy at. (Sounds like you have a good deal going at the Swan) But I have to disagree on the nap thing. My 4yo and 5yo still nap regularly (well, the 5yo can only nap on weekends now) and when we're in WDW those naps are even MORE important! They don't make it to dinner time without a nap! So my advice would be to plan where you think you'll spend the most park time (if you do a park) and go with the closer one.

She mentioned it was the morning nap. Most kids are down to one nap a day by two (mine napped for three hours until the age of four!).
