WL or Contemporary Wing

I currently have reservations for a courtyard view room at the WL. I called yesterday to see if there was another hotel available (just stayed at WL in Feb) and they offered me Cont. Garden wing for the same price ($200 with tax).
Should I switch (assuming it is still available)?
What are the views like in the WL courtyard? Can you see the Magic Kingdom?
Any help would be appreciated.

I'd say if you are more concerned with room view, WL might be better (not sure though because I haven't stayed there, but it sounds nice), but if you'd like to be on the monorail, you might try the Contemporary Garden Wing. We always stay at the contemporary and have done wing and tower and like both, mainly for the great transportation!

WL is shaped pretty much like a U with the MK to the left of the U. The Courtyard rooms look into the 'center' of the U so a courtyard view at the WL will not be able to see the MK - you might be able to see the fireworks if they are high enough in the air I guess (if your room was on a higher floor and you were in the South wing).

The WL is a fantastically themed, beautiful resort that is very convenient to the MK (boat). It has quiet, comfortable, albeit kind of modest sized (for a deluxe) rooms, a nice pool, a geyser (!) and a lot of nooks and crannies that are fun to explore. The one knock on it is that you have to take buses to all the parks other than the MK.

The Cont has always been something of a mystery to me because it isn't themed exactly - but it does have a Monorail going through it which is seriously kewl :-) The rooms are substantially larger than the WL rooms (they will hold 5 comfortably) and are also quiet and comfortable. It has a standard pool and is an easy walk (5-10 minutes) to the MK and a quick monorail ride to the TTC where you transfer to the EPCOT monorail. To get to AK or the Studios you have to take a bus.

Try looking up the two resorts on line to get a look at them. I always use Deb Wills Website to research things myself.

They are both great resorts, for the above mentioned reasons. The Contemporary does have one other thing going for it - room size. It is the largest standard room on property (440 square feet compared to 340 square feet at WL). We love the Contemporary. If my son had his way, we would only stay at the Contemporary - even though he thinks that WL is a great resort as well. Enjoy your trip.

We stayed at the Contemp in a garden wing (left wing facing MK) two years ago. We had a fabulous room - perfect view of the fireworks - large bathroom, large room for that matter. My 3 year old still remembers it and wants to go back to the big white hotel where Mickey lives! If we didn't buy into DVC/VWL we would probably be staying there again. For what it lacks in theming you gain in convenience and space. I have to add that my DH and I love the Wilderness Lodge atmosphere.

Thanks for all the great replies. At this point I doubt that I will be able to switch to CR but I will keep calling. My daughter really wants to stay at CR. She really loves the idea of walking to the Magic Kingdom.
Again, thanks...
