I have never stayed at either of these resorts. I'm looking for the pros and cons of each one for anyone that has stayed at both. Thanks.

We've stayed at both and love both of them. You should read the facts threads for each of the two resorts, to get a feel for each of them. The WL is currently experiencing a lot of major construction, but it supposed to be finished before the end of the year, most likely sooner than that.

Beach Club has a great location. You can walk to Epcot (5 - 10 minute walk) and take a boat or walk to Hollywood Studios. You have the beautiful Boardwalk area just across the lagoon. It is a lovely resort.

The Wilderness Lodge is gorgeous. There is a boat to MK and another boat that travels between Fort Wilderness, Contemporary and WL.

Both are great! Really depends on the individual.
Beach Club - lovely hotel with interior rooms, small lobby and usually fairly busy in the lobby because of Cape May. Has a great pool with a cool slide ..can easily walk to Epcot WS in under 10 min. There are a few small quiet pools in addition to the main pool. You can also walk to Hollywood Studios or take watercraft there. There are several good restaurants to choose from nearby. Lots to see as you walk around the Boardwalk at night so that is a fun "extra" that Wilderness Lodge doesn't offer.
Wilderness Lodge has a northwest lodge feel - very themed and welcoming. Watercraft to MK or to Contemporary/ Ft.Wilderness is very pleasant.
They are under construction now, but we did not have a problem with that...depends on when you are going. They have a wonderful pool and splash pad for little ones, and the new Geyser Point is a great casual place to eat with a beautiful view of the water.

There really aren't in "cons" to either! If it is really hot when you are there, Beach Club might win my vote just for the proximity of getting back for dips in a cool pool:) Good Luck!

I haven't stayed at WL, but I can say a lot probably depends on your travel plans. Do you plan to spend most time at WDW or Epcot or even split park time evenly? Are you traveling with kids, and if so, what ages? Is pool time a big thing for you? Access to lots of restaurants? Etc. And then, sometimes, when everything is 'even,' it just depends on which hotel's theme you like best.

BC is a great resort, and people love WL. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

They are our 2 favorite resorts. I agree with rosiebean to think about what is the most convenient for you. On our next stay, we are splitting between WL for 5 nights and Swan for 5 nights (free on points) because we love the walking access to Epcot and Studios from the BC area (so we'll focus on visiting those parts for those 5 days) and the ability to zip in and out of the Showcase for meals, but got a great deal at WL and love it, so we'll focus on MK and monorail dining during those 5 nights. You won't regret either one!

I am in the same dilemma.. which to pick? I love the Pool at BC and the walking to Epcot but I love the WL feel and close to Magic Kingdom and now can see fireworks from some of the rooms... I have stayed at WL but not BC. Mine will probably come down to the price and the kind of discount I get with the Military discount when it comes out for next year...

We have stayed at both and love both! Here are a few reasons why. BC- stayed 9 times. LOVE the proximity to 2 parks. Love the pool and restaurants all close by. Love the overall atmosphere. We are from IN and when we travel to FL in the spring or summer we like having that "beachy" vibe. Rooms are large and newly remodeled. Very bright and airy. WL- stayed 3 times. Usually in the fall. Beautiful Xmas decorations. Atmosphere is lovely. Much like staying at a warm, cozy lodge in the Northwest US. Love taking the boat to MK but that is the only park that is convenient really. Rooms cute, but smaller and darker. Pool area is beautiful. It generally comes down to location for us and time of year we are traveling. Although this November we are back at the BC. Just love walking over to Epcot WS every evening. I think it really comes down to where you plan to spend most of your time- MK or Epcot/HS.

IMO, Beach Club is the more convenient of the two. You can avoid buses to Epcot and HS. At WL, you have the boat to MK, but you can't walk anywhere. BC is a short walk to the Boardwalk which can provide an evening of entertainment. Theming is a matter of personal taste. I think the Wilderness Lodge theme is better executed, but perhaps that is because I have stayed at many seaside resorts. BC is nice though, for sure. I'd give the edge to BC in terms of pool. Stormalong Bay is known as the best pool on property. For dining I prefer BC. Cape May has an onsite character breakfast and I love their seafood buffet at dinner time. The Yachtsman Steakhouse in the YC is excellent. Then, there's BEACHES AND CREAM!! This is an old fashioned soda fountain type restaurant that is very cute and has great ice cream. My vote goes to BC but I like both of them very much. You can't really go wrong with either.

Thanks for all of the great responses. I'm leaning towards Beach Club. Seems like it will be the better option for us.
