WL or BC

having stayed at both i would return to the bc in a heart beat. wl is nice but i didnt care for the decor of the rooms. (i'm a girly girl and like softer colors) the lobby is very nice, but how much time do you really spend in the lobby?the transportion is iffy, as you share with fw. the bus to the mk is a great plus less then 5 minutes away.some like to take the boat to the mk but it is slow, and you can share with fw.

the bc is great, much prettier room decor and a little larger too. the dining options are great because you are close to 5 resorts in the epcot area. the walk to epcot is about 5 minutes and the walk to mgm is about 15-20. so right there you have 2 less buses to wait for. and if you are tired, there is a boat ride offered at both parks to and from bc. now the bus ride to mk from bc is the long, and there is bus sharing with the yc, but its right next door (not like the aggravating back tracking wl to fw) some have said you can share with bwi and s/d but we went in this past jan and never did. and being right on the bw there is just more to see and do at wl we felt so isolated.

so i do like the wl but i LOVE the bc.

have a great trip!

I'd chose the BC.

But that might not be right for you. How about telling us a bit about the size and make-up of your party? Frequent visitors or first timers? How long are you staying? Are you more theme-park commando's or laid-back tourers? Any very young or very old folks?

Would you pick WL or BC for a January 08 trip?

Just got back from a week at the WL. Absolutely loved it!! It was very peaceful and quite and removed from all of the Disney crowds. We did, actually go over to the BC and found it to be crowded and noisy. But, of course you can't go wrong with anything Disney! They're all fantastic, just because it's Disney. It depends on your taste and preferences. Our room at WL overlooked a pond with ducks, interesting birds and bunnies. We also saw the MK fireworks from our balcony. :cool1: Have fun researching!!

We absolutely loved the WL when our children were younger, the boat the MK was such a great feature.
That said, now that the children are older, I would choose BC if it was in our budget. Being able to walk or boat to EP and MGM must be fantastic!

thanks for all the advice.. it would be me and my husband with our 6 yr old daughter.. we try to go once a year.. we have stayed at all the mods and akl and wl.. We loved WL but always thought about the BC...

thanks for all the advice.. we just can't make up our mind..

do they open the pool in Jan.. I am sure they do but what are the hours?

Beach Club has better overall amenities and a much better location. Rooms are also a tad larger and the pool is, indeed, open in January (heated). I'd personally choose BC over WL (although loved it, too).

If the cost is not a factor, I'd go with BC. The only downfall is the month of January and if it's too cool to swim -- it would be a shame to stay at BC and not utilize the pool. I'm not sure what the hours of the pool would be in January. We normally stay at BC in either May/June or Sept/Oct and it closes fairly early, like around 8:00 PM. Not sure what time it opens -- I'm thinking 10:00 AM.
