WL or BC? (or split stay?)

We are going to WDW for 6 nights at the end of February 2003. We will be spending most of our time at MK and Epcot. I can't decide between WL and BC. The theming of the WL is great. We ate at AP 2 years ago, so I know how beautiful it is! BC looks great too. I love the idea of walking to Epcot. We often end up the day at Epcot (we love eating dinner there, and also love TOD parade and Illuminations). We are planning one day in the middle of our trip to sleep in, swim, go to DD, etc... I know my boys (age 4 and 7) would love Stormalong bay. Then there is the $90/night price difference. Any comments?

I'm also considering splitting our stay between WL and BC. How difficult it is to transfer resorts mid-stay? I've read on the boards here about Disney transferring your luggage from one resort to another. However, when I asked the Disney Club reservations agent about this, all he said was that guest services could arrange a taxi for us.

Disney will move your luggage for you when you transfer from one WDW resort to another. We did a split stay in January at AKL and the Polynesian. We really enjoyed getting to experience to different resorts. The luggage transfer worked really well - no problems.

Splitting your stay might work out well for you, especially since you plan to spend most of your time at Epcot and MK. You could do MK days while at WL, and then do Epcot area things while at the BC.

I'm sure you'll have a great time, wherever you decide to stay!

This is kinda funny b/c I have had this same issue. My DVC is at WL but I am a true BC fan. So even though I have the villa at WL I have spent every trip (accept for 2) at the BC. The WL does have good location but the transportation is slow. I timed it once where my brother and his wife left for the docks at WL to go to MK, while I went to the bus station at BC I beat him to the MK. I have since sold my DVC to my father and have purchased it at the BC. Don't get me wrong I love WL for is serenity, it is quiet and soooo peaceful but I just figure that I can visit it anytime I want, I would rather be at the BC... hehe

In 9/99, when we went to WDW, we split out stay between Comtemporary and BC. Personally, I prefer staying at Comtempary rather than WL because you can either take the monorail or walk (which was what we did) to MK. It is a very pleasant walk and not very far. We stayed in one of the wings in Comtemporary, and had a much bigger room than at BC, we could even see Electrical Parade from our Balcony (I seem to remember we had a balcony, can't be sure).

We had a good AP rate and we ended up extensing our stay at Comtemporary and cut short on BC because the rate was better, and the transportation to MK was great.

By staying at Comtemporary and BC/YC area, you get to walk to both MK and Epcot. We just visited WL by boat.
