i want to stay at the wl, and would like a room over the lobby, are there standard rooms there, is it noisy, i just think walking out the door and viewing the awsome lobby would be great, i guess i would have to request a room on a high floor, but any comments would be great, thanks

well, i will say this. several years ago my husband and i were in one of the honeymoon rooms on the 7th floor. and we were amazed how noisy it was one evening. overall, it was quiet, but one rainy evening when it seemed everyone was in the lodge, it was noisy!!:p

Your absolutely right Billpowerrock, I couldn't imagine there being a better way to start off you day than walking out your door and seeing Minnie Mouse and Goofy walking around the beautiful lobby.

I have asked this question several times and so far no answer so her goes again!!
What are the Laundry Facilities like at WL?? Please tell me everything!! Cleanliness, cost and location!! Thanks for any info.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Had a room on the 5th floor over looking the lobby. LOVED it !!!! The view of the chandeliers alone is wonderful!

Wenlitz, you will LOVE WL!!! We thought that it was worth the cost. It is one of the least expensive deluxe resorts, but still has all the luxury! The northwest theme surrounds you and is so relaxing. There are lots of out of the way spots to sit and enjoy. Lobby is enoromous and beautiful. The rooms very cozy. My children loved walking trough the lobby and around the grounds. Everything was very clean and there were no surprises. While not a monorail resort, transportation was ok. We took the boat to MK and CR. Not as fast as the monorail I guess but, IT"S A BOAT! How fun is that for transportation! The bus to MGM was ok. I think when we went to EPCOT we went from MK and took the monorail so I couldn't say how that was.

The one transportation issue we had was when we had PS ressies at Cindy's for breakfast for before MK opened. It wasn't really clear how to get there. We did it right the first time though!

Have a wonderful time! Email me with specific questions if you have any more.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I am looking forward to being there. I am curious about the laundry facilities. Where is it? What is the cost? Is is clean?? Thanks again!!

Don't know, don't know, don't know....sorry didn't realize you just wanted laundry info:rolleyes:

I have to belive someone else will know.....

:) :) :) :) :)

Thank you for all of your info!! I appreciate your view of the WL. This is our first time at this resort and we are looking forward to it. There is so much info it makes me dizzy. Just want to be sure and request the right floor, room and non smoking!! Thanks again!!

Ok, just so you don''t think I'm totally useless.... I just dug out my Lodge map from '98. How's that for saving everything!!!!!

Looks like the laundry is right by Roaring Forks on the ground floor. These both look out on the courtyard with the pools.

If it would help, send me a message and I can scan and send you a copy of this map.

jldriscoll - please share the "right' way to travel to the MK for a PS at Cindy's before the park opens. I have PS in August at 8:25 & park opening looks like 9. I don't want to miss my PS :9 What's the fastest way to get there and how much time should I allow?

Thanks,
Colette :)

jldriscoll,

We are hoping for cinyd's for my b-day. How did you get ther prior to MK opening? Did you have to take the character breakfast bus??? We will have our car. Should we just drive over to the TTC?

we didn't stay in a lobby room, but ended up having to take the stairs a couple of times because the elevators got real backed up. We found the area to actually be sort of quiet...the seating areas are very cozy and nice. If you were on a lower floor, you could bypass the elevators altogether and just take the stairs every day...

susy, ColetteN ... wouldn't you like to know, hahahaha......

Remember, this was in '98 before the Character buses I think. We caught one of the buses headed for TTC then a CM pointed us in the direction of the resort monorail. At that time that's the only one that ran before the parks opened and they DID ask for our confirmation number.

The boat DID NOT run before the park opening so (unless someone has more current info) take the bus.

Simple really but we did meet some people running to meet the bus that were waiting for the boat to take them to MK. That's a LONG run!!!!

Wenlitz...The laundry is located near Roaring Fork. There is an elevator in the north wing. DW took this down to the floor where Roaring Fork is located. The laundry was right across the hall from this elevator. $2/wash, $1/dry(15 min). While you can by detergent there, DW brought along some type of tablets in ziplock bags (Much less expensive, and easy to pack in suitcase). Several washers and dryers.

Lobby Rooms...Earlier this month we were in room 4087. Woods view that also looked over the lobby. Also...directly over Whispering Canyons. I am noise sensitive. Honestly, we didn't notice much noise at all! As mentioned above, we did hear the "dinner bell", and "COME AND GET IT!!!!", but that was it. We thought the lobby view was GREAT!!!!! DD4 could see the characters every morning. More importantly, Sunrise Terrace is located on the 4th floor. It has the best view of the courtyard and lake. Also there is a separate, quiet fireplace area on the 4th floor, too.

Thanks for the info about the laundry facilities!! I am ready to go!! Hope we have a great room and that will make our vacation complete!!:) :) :) :)

WE stayed in a Lobby Room back when there was a nightly "Animal Show and tell" in the lobby....I just watched from the balcony in front of my room. I found the room very quiet.:D

The guest laundry is just down the hall on the right hand side from the Roaring forks Cafe. It costs $2 per wash load and $1 for ea 15 min of drying time. You can put $1 in then another $1 and then another $1 for 45 minutes total dry time. Take your own detergent as they do sell it there but a box good for only one load is $1! I took the Whisk tablets. Worked great.

It's close to the pool so you can go sit out and wait while the laundry's getting done. It's your basic small laundry room, no windows but there is a TV. There's only one chair to sit on.

Hope this helps you.

:) Thanky you for the info. I think I will pack the the tablets for washing and a box of dryer sheets. That way I only have to pickup the softner. I always have to wash once during our stay!!

My family and I stayed at WL in June 2000. I checked my notes. We stayed in rooms 5018 and 5019. These rooms were very quiet, close to the elevator and overlook the pond. They did not overlook the lobby. We asked for these rooms specifically based on a recommendation from a DISer. Great recommendation. The laundry facility is indeed across from Roaring Forks just as you come off the elevator. It is VERY small and was very crowded at this time of year. I had to make several late night attempts to get the laundry done. WL is an excellent choice. The cast members here are especially accommodating even by Disney standards. I hear the hotel is especially beautiful in December
