We have 2 rooms booked at WL for our upcoming family/solo trip. I originally booked 2 Ctyd view rooms under AAA rate. Now that the room only discount is available for the Woods view I would love to switch to save more $. My mom only likes the idea of overlooking the pool/Silver Springs. I would like to save the $30+ a night, but she says it's only $30 so why the fuss.

Here is the breakdown:

2 rooms, 4 nights CTYD view: $1755.04
2 rooms, 4 nights WOOD view: $1484.96
Difference: $270.08

Those WL fans, is the difference between woods v.s. courtyard worth it?

When we stayed at the WL we had a courtyard view and while it was nice it was also a bit noisy. We were on the 5th floor but could still hear noise from the pool at night.
I would actually prefer a woodsview for the peaceful feeling. I think it would be nice at night or in the morning and look out over the woods, and I would suspect that you would have a view of the lagoon .

Stayed in VWL in woodlands view and it was great, nice and peaceful, go out on the porch/balcony, peace and quite! I would think that the other views, while you may catch a glimpse of the pool/geyser, etc. would be noiser than woodlands. We had my 84 year old MIL with us and she just loved the whole quite, woodsy area! And for the amount of money you will save.....I'd definitely go for it! You could spend another night, or consider the savings as spending money or a start-up bank for the next trip!

Is Mom aware that a courtyard view might be overlooking the WL main pool or the courtyard of the villas and the villa's pool? You can certainly request you overlook the main pool, but nothing is guaranteed.

That said, I too love the view of the lake and the geyser, and prefer an upper floor. But it's a very personal preference and you're the only one that can decide if it's worth $270 to you....... that will buy a LOT of food.

(you might compromise and put your Mom in the courtyard view and book the other room as a woods view and save $135, unless you need connecting rooms. It's possible the rooms might end up right across the hall from each other.)

We too liked our Woods view when we stayed there. I wouldn't pay extra for courtyard view.

We had a view of the main courtyard just a few weeks ago and I can't imagine not having that view all the time. We had a sixth floor room and didn't notice the noise at all. When we had the balcony door open, you could hear the Electric Water Pagent and some light pool noise. With the door closed...not a sound. I will tell you, I could hear the horn from the boat...but it just made me smile. It wasn't disturbing at all. I'm with mom on this one...the extra money is worth it for the view, IMO.
