Hey all,

Satying at WL for the first time in March. I was wondering if it is appropriate to ask to be the flag family as our sons are very young (3 and 5), or whether this activity is better reserved for older children.

Any advice? Thanks!

At the time DD was 4. It was a great experience. Ranger Stan lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. DD4 wasn't familiar with the pledge, but was curious about the ritual. When we returned to WL 6 months later DD looked for Ranger Stan, and was proud to recite the Pledge of Allegiance on her own!

We were the flag family on our last day when we visited in July. It was wonderful. My son was 4 and he and my husband put up all the flags. He knew the pledge so he said it right along with everyone else. It was a great experience, so if you get the chance, do it. If you are worried about your kids being too young, take lots of pictures and then they will remember it later.

Oh, we also had DD with us...she was 3 months old. Won't remember a thing, so we'll try to do it again when she is a little bit older.

When we went in Sept, my sons were 3 and 6. We were flag family and my youngest son loved being able to pull the rope to raise the flag. They did all 5 flags. Each got to raise 2 flags and the 5th flag, they raised together.

It was go great!
