What is "Courtyard View" and are there any pros/cons?
A courtyard view is a view of the courtyard and pool area located between the two wings of the Wilderness Lodge. You would have a view of Bay Lake from those rooms. A pro would be a nice view of the lake from the rooms closest to the lake. You might be able to see the Electric Water Pageant and the geyser from those rooms. It is considered a better view than standard and woods view rooms. A con would be that the rooms that overlook the pool would hear the music and pool games during the pool parties. If you want to take an afternoon nap then I would not book a courtyard view room. Another con is that you can't see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from these rooms, whereas many of the standard view and woods view rooms have a very nice view of the fireworks.

I didn't think woods view existed anymore?

The funny thing is, when we checked into the WL on March 24th the cast member at the desk insisted that the woods view category still existed. We had a bit of an argument when I told her that you couldn't book a woods view room and she insisted that you could. So I dropped it but I thought it was funny that the staff at the WL thinks there are still woods view rooms at the resort.

I think they will soon go back to using the woods view category on their website when the construction is finished. I was told by a CM that there are plans to plant lots of trees, some of which were very large.

Our best courtyard view was the inner courtyard, it was not over the pool, but the courtyard above where the stream, & rock formations are. Upper floor, not top floor which is CL. We could see the Electric Water Paradecand Bay Lake from our balcony. Couldn't hear pool noise.

But a prev visit we had a courtyard view above pool, and with balcony door closed we never heard pool noise. We were close to elevator that goes down to Roaring Forks.

Our first WL stay we had a courtyard view of the villas pool. That was considered a courtyard view too. It was quiet.

If you can I would book a "woods view" room, I know some are saying otherwise, but they are certainly still a bootable category from the UK. Whilst during the day (we were never in the room until evening) you could see a bit of construction, every night we could see the castle lit up and Wishes. It was really awesome.

Woods View is still not a bookable category in the US. Since they removed it here, my Parents have had 2 stays in Standard View rooms that had awesome views of Wishes.

I find it so odd how things vary from country to country, availability, pricing, room category's, special offers and discounts, its crazy. If I was OP I would take advantage of those firework views whilst they are cheaper, I've got a feeling they may re-categorise them and make them very expensive once constructions over.

We had room 6006 last year in October ...Great views of the magic kingdom..I took note of the rooms facing north..6002 - 6034... All these even number rooms have awesome views of MK...Especially near the higher end where you can see Contemporary resort and the monorail..

All Standard rooms face North now. The other Standard are gone forever (DVC)
And yes, the lower the number, 06, 04, etc, the better chance to see MK. The lower number, 34, 36 have a harder chance to see MK and Wishes.
And you need floor 4 and up. Lower floors are still blocked. And the top floor has a solid balcony, while you can still see standing you can't see sitting.

We had the opposite of experience. We stayed for 10 days with a courtyard view, very close to the main lobby. Hearing the water at night was spectacular. However, the pool noise from the afternoon games and parties was VERY loud because they use a microphone! It echoed all the way up to us. We were on the top floor, Club level. I complained and asked if they could turn it down. They said no, but they could move our room. We chose to stay. It was actually our only negative about WL; we LOVE it so much!
We could also see the highest fireworks from wishes at night!

Cool you could see some fireworks. With our balcony door closed we couldn't hear pool party. Thankfully! I wonder how the CL will be now that they've commandeered the entire south wing for DVC. So sad about that. Now it seems WL is mostly a DVC resort with south wing gone, the addition of the cabins ruining lakeshore, and the original DVC building. All that's left for regular booking is the north side of main building. Guess you can tell how I feel about what they're doing!!!

Thanks for the futher info..We have just recently booked for November of next year, and I've made a 5th or 6th floor request with a north facing room again, fingers X....I know that requests are not guaranteed, but here's hoping..

This was our favorite thing about our Courtyard View room when we stayed at WL-we could watch the EWP from our balcony (and hear it at a volume level that was perfect for close-to-bedtime littles), and there was little noise at night. We had ended up with a Courtyard view because that's what was available when I booked, but I'd definitely not hesitate to choose it again next time we stay at WL.

We had Courtyard View in 2015 for our honeymoon...Room 5011? It's been two years...

At any rate, it was in that ball park and it was great. The pool noise could be heard with the door open, but closed it was fine. We left the door cracked at night and listened to the waterfall. We had a partial view of the bay and the EWP, but my husband often went down to see it. It was his first trip and I've ruined him. He won't stay anywhere besides WL ;)

This past February I went with my mom and we had a standard view room, 4026, and it had great views of fireworks and I could basically see the castle from my bed. That was pretty nice, especially since we got a deal for $215 a night :)
