We're (myself, DW, DD6, DD5) planning for 8-10 days this summer and I want to try a new resort.

The last two years we've stayed at the Poly and loved it. The theming, pool, monorail access - it was great.

I've always wanted to stay at the CR, and we always hit Chef Mickey's at least once, but the WL sounds so good from what I've read here.

Then I start reading about SAB at the YC. Wow, that sounds nice. The girls love playing in the pool. Plus, it's easier to get them to leave the parks if we say we're going to the pool, not to go rest.

We love pools, easy transportation, good food, Papa likes a cold drink and Mama wants a hassle-free, good, relaxing vacation.

I'm sure all three are really nice, but which one do you think fits us best based on this sketchy information?

YC!! We stayed there and loved it.SAB is wonderful for the whole familyand the transportation to everything can not be beat. We loved being able to walk or take the boat to Epcot, take the boat to MGM and be able to walk or boat over to Boardwalk.
There are so many things to do in the area and the CM at YC are wonderful. I can't say enough good things about them.

We thought it was very relaxing there . We are going to AKL again this next trip but the one after that in Dec will be at YC..... I can't wait to get back there :Pinkbounc

I would have to pick the Yacht Club for you. We stayed there and loved it. You may want to actually consider the Beach Club, which is closer to the International Gateway of Epcot by a few steps than the YC. Also, it may just have seemed like this to us, but the Beach Club seems closer to Stormalong Bay than the YC does...also by a few steps. However, we had a Yacht Club room that was all the way at the end of the resort, closer to the Swan/Dolphin and Boardwalk than the BC and SB.

Nothing is going to seem as convenient as the monorail after staying at the Poly, but that wouldn't stop me from trying new resorts.

I'll be trying the WL for the first time in a few weeks, so my mind may be changed after that. I can't wait.

Have a great trip!

I'm not a big CR fan. Between the other two I'd say it depends on what you're looking for. SAB is awesome and the location is excellent. WL is quieter and has a really nice pool. WL is worth it just to look at the lobby.

As long as our children or most of them are under the age of 7 it's got to be a monorail resort...nothing beats that...that said...WL would be an option because they can boat over to MK...we spend 75% of our time at MK and being able to get back quickly to the pool is a great plus...if you think you'll spend more of your time at MGM or Epcot then go with YC...

Personally, my choice would be GF or WL...I'm not keen on the decor at CR..it's just not relaxing enough for me...GF has neat things for the children...tea party, grand cooking adventures, pirate cruise...not to mention a spa for your wife! :)

YC has a great pool, Epcot and Broadwalk for food and close to MGM. Takes more time to get to MK but over all we love YC/BC.

This is a tough question. We've stayed at the Yacht Club and the Wilderness Lodge, but never at the Contemporary. You are planning on going in the summer, which is unbelievably hot and humid. I would base my stay on two things. Which park will you frequest the most and how important is the pool? Yacht Club has the best pool, by far, but you have a crowded bus ride to the MK. If you place MK at the top of your most important park, I would stay at the Wilderness Lodge. You'll have less problems with the transportation. The choice is yours, but pick the resort from which you'll be most comfortable. :)

We don't care much about the decor, but abolutely love being in the CR and having the monorail come right into the hotel. It's just one of those things that make it Disney World for us!

I'd go with the YC/BC for the pool and the location.

Thanks for all the feedback. YC seems to be quite a few peoples choice.

Fr the folks that have stayed at more than one, is there much difference in the rooms, service, theming, etc. between the three?

One more thing.

I love steak. I've read that the YC has one of the best steaak places at Disney. How does Concourse at the CR compare?

I've been reading your thread because we have the same dilemma. Currently booked at WL, but for some reason I'm just not sold. I have eaten several times at the Concourse Steakhouse - it's good, but not great. The best steaks I've had at WDW were at Le Cellier. I've heard great things about the Yachtsman & Shula's, but we haven't made it to either of those yet.

Does YC have a concierge type level?
Yes, they do. We stayed concierge at the Yacht Club last April, and it was excellent. The concierge rooms are located on the 5th floor. :)

YC concierage is rumored to be fantastic -- I can't afford it myself. If you can, go for it. The pool is awesome, and being able to walk/boat to Epcot and MGM is the best. You will be close to the Yachtsman, Le Cellier in World Showcase, and Shula's at the Dolphin--3 great steak places. There are some good restaurants on the Boardwalk as well. My 2nd choice is CR. You can walk or monorail to MK and the rooms are very large. They have a good concierage, as well as a "lite" concierage on the 12th floor. If you've never visited Wilderness Lodge, you may want to stop by on this trip to check it out. Some people love the theming, others don't.

We're in the minority by not like YC/BC and YC concierge. We encountered rude staff there adn the concierge was nothing special....hot food was cold, cold food was luke warm.....it was yucky! We were so disappointed. We live by the ocean, so SAB is not a big deal for us, but we've been there and liked it fine. I didn't like the sandy bottom! Go figure! I just don't like those two resorts that much.

If you can afford it, I'd go CR! The arcade is FABULOUS! We had wonderful service there. There's nothing like watching the monorail. Stay in the Tower and get a MK view! It's unbelievable.

Second choice....WL. Great place! Lots of fun. Has Cub's Den for kiddies!
