Hello, Disney Travelers!

We are looking at WL Cooper Creek Villas for a family trip. Grandma would like to stay in a 2 bedroom villa, since our party if 6 provides an excuse to do so. There is a villa available for our stay. Hurray!

How long is the walk from WLCC to Magic Kingdom?

While up for a change, our favorite resort is Beach Club. We like being at the International Gateway, walking to Epcot, boat to Hollywood, and Epcot monorail to MK.

Going to MK from WLCC by boat.
Is the boat direct to the MK dock or does it loop to other resorts?
Going to MK from BC requires a walk through Epcot to monorail, a trip to TTC, and monorail to MK.

Going to Epcot From WLCC
Boat to MK, monorail to TCC, monorail to Epcot.
From BC, we just roll out bed and take a short walk. :)

Going to Hollywood Studios from WLCC.
Boat to MK, monorail to TTC then to Epcot, walk to International Gateway, Skyliner to DHS (with a transfer) or walk to boat at Beach Club.

What has your experience been getting around from MKCC?

Thanks,
Jacques

You can't walk to Magic Kingdom from the WL, Boulder Ridge or Copper Creek.

There is bus transportation to all the parks and to Disney Springs from the bus stop. There is a boat to Magic Kingdom, too, and it goes directly to and from the resort.

All of the park buses go directly to the parks without any other stops until late in the morning - after 11am. Then the buses share with another resort.

You never have to take the monorail unless you want to. There is bus service to all of the parks.

You have to take the bus from WL. However, one advantage that we find is that we take the bus to MK and it gets you to the bus terminal there and from there, you can go to all of the other resorts. We don't find that the boat runs as frequently as the bus, it's smaller and it takes longer.

While we love the Epcot resorts because it's close to a lot of things, if you want to get to other resorts not in walking distance, you have to either go to Hollywood Studios or the front of Epcot or take the bus to MK or AKL and take another bus. WL is quite close to MK so it's very convenient to use MK as a terminal hub.

Bus to HS, Epcot and AKL directly. Also, going to MK from BC is a bus ride direct from the resort - going through Epcot is the very long way around.

There is a boat to MK about 10 minutes but a very enjoyable ride only services WL. There is also a bus to MK that takes maybe 5 minutes. To all others it is bus. WL is a small layout so the bus stop is an easy walk as is everything else. I will agree BC is convenient to EPCOT and the reason we stay in that area once in a while but that is where it ends… WL is by far one of the best themed resorts only competition is POLY and AKL but AKL is more of a destination hotel rather than a resort. WL offers easy access to all amenities has a good CS as well as easy to get to the other MK resorts by going to MK or taking the DS bus as this will stop at CR before going to DS. With that if you are renting BW which is at best a few steps further to EPCOT then BC does have 2BR villas also should be a few dollars less then CC as the points chart is lower. If your priority is EPCOT also BW is an easy walk to HS as the walking path is on the villa side but again to us the only reason is convenience otherwise theming at the EPCOT resorts have little to offer.

When I stayed at Wilderness Lodge, I preferred the bus to MK rather than the boat. The bus ride was shorter, and the wait for the bus also was shorter.

I personally like the Epcot Resort area more than Wilderness Lodge, and not just for the convenience of getting to Epcot and DHS. I like being able to walk to the other hotels in the area. At Wilderness Lodge, you can't walk anywhere. So, for example, if you are at Wilderness Lodge and want a snack but don't like the selection at the hotel, you can't just walk to a nearby hotel. If you don't have a car, you have to take a bus/boat to MK and then take Disney transportation from there to the other hotel (or pay to take Uber/Lyft/Minnie Van/taxi from Wilderness Lodge to the other hotel). I didn't have a car, so I felt kind of stuck at Wilderness Lodge.

See above in BOLD. You do not need to go to the MK first and switch to other modes of transportation to get to the other parks, there are direct busses from the WL to each park. Unless you want to do it the way you describe above, though it's rather a waste of time and not necessary.
