WL Construction in December?

We have a trip booked for December. WL rooms were very difficult to get (we got lucky & have a great TA who found some after checking regularly). I see on the website there will be construction at WL during this trip.

I thought the new WL DVC could be complete by summer?

What is the construction in December and how might this affect our standard room?

It's a mystery. The new villas will open in July, but no completion dates are set for Roaring Fork or the new pool. Finishing work may continue for a while as well.

Thank you. It was very difficult to find an available room at WL during the first week of December and I was wondering if it had anything to do with the construction?

Nope.

Couple things:

1. People love WL for Christmas decor.
2. They just converted half the rooms to DVC. That means there are now fewer cash rooms to be had. So in that sense, sure, it has to do with construction. Because the rooms are now gone as "Wilderness Lodge." They're villas now.

Oh this is very relieving to me, thank you!!!

How sad that half the rooms are gone though! DVC is great, but WL regular rooms is the only MK resort we can afford.

I wonder if that construction notice is still there only because there is still current construction, not because there will still be construction in December.

Could be. Could go either way.

Boardwalk has been under construction for 3 years and they weren't building cabins...
