Checking in on Aug. 2nd and just received a letter advising there will be construction. There were no details of the construction and I'm assuming it is due to the new cabins. Anyone have any insight as if this will impact much? I doubt it and am not too concerned, but thought I'd see if other members had recent experiences to share,

My understanding is that they are starting by drilling test holes, a couple hundred looking for bedrock. Next is the area between the villas and the beach including the quiet pool which will have some major work and a couple of new buildings being built.

We just reduced our VWL reservation in December to a couple of nights.

Thanks Bill. Any suggestion for room requests to avoid the construction?

Since we are only there for a couple of nights to see what's going on, we asked only for a high floor. Might be on the construction/pool side or the side towards the road. I figured that the room assigners will have their hands full so I didn't get too specific. :-)

You could ask for a room on road side. But if the resort is full despite the construction you might not get your room request and end up a view of the construction which means more noise.

I thought they already did bore holes, Bill. There was document listing them.

Hoping the impact is minimal. We don't stick around the resort much during the day except to swim and I suspect there won't be disruption at night.

I guess that they are moving faster than I thought, the hole boring requirement was told to me last year.

When I was called I was told 9am to 7pm. But I think Poly guests were too and there were still reports of early starts - more like 7am.
