WL concierge and safari?

I had read somewhere on here that at concierge level at the WL or for that matter any concierge level, we would be able to book a safari at AK. When I called today to do that I was told it is only vailable to AK guests.
Does anyone know if this is true?

There is an AK excursion for non-AKL club level guests. It's called the Wildlife Safari Excursion. Here's the info I received before I booked. We're staying Poly Club Level.

Aloha!

Disney's Animal Kingdom invites you to venture off the beaten path of
the Harambe Wildlife Reserve for a unique animal observation and photo
excursion. Led by a seasoned Safari Guide and an Animal expert, this
adventure takes you off the Safari trail, stopping at special
observation and photo areas throughout the 110-acre savannah of the
reserve.

The excursion does not include food nor permit food on the vehicle.
Bottled water is allowed. This excursion occurs rain or shine with the

exception of severe weather which may cause the Reserve or park to
close.

Guests must be at least 3 years of age. Guests under 3 years of
age(including infants) will be denied boarding. Parents traveling with

young children should be advised that once loaded on the vehicle, there

is no way for Guests to unload until the end of the Excursion. Guests
will be in close/semi-enclosed quarters on the vehicle which makes
frequent stops on the savanna. There are no restroom facilities.

Two tours are offered daily Tuesday through Saturday:

10:00AM (Guests should arrive at check-in by 9:45AM)
1:00PM (Guests should arrive at check-in by 12:45PM)
Tour lasts approximately one (1) Hour.

The cost is $45.00 per person, tax inclusive. Payment in full is due
at
the time of booking. The cancellation policy is 48 hours prior to event

in order to receive a refund. Please include credit card information if

making a request for this event.

That's it! I tried to explain to the CM at WL and he said flat out "no, there is nothing like that" I will call and speak to someone else in the am now that I know it really does exist.

1) You might have spoken with the IPO people at the Poly.
2) The CM's at WL who work concierge (lobby or club floor) know about this.
3) It is a popular request.
4) The IPO person might have been thinking about the Sunrise Safari.
5) In that case, he/she would have been correct.

NOTE: The Sunrise Safari is for AKL Club Floor guests, only. However, if there are only a few people going, other concierge can get their Club Floor people into the safari. This is done at the last moment, so it is always nice to check with the Club Floor Concierge in the morning to see if there is room.
