Hi, all! Okay so we were scheduled to spend a week at WL CL at the end of May, but yesterday, after reading recent reports on the construction, we decided to move to the poly cl instead. My husband and son love the WL and we are all crazy planners so I feel like we are totally thrown for a loop here since we have been researching the ins and outs of the WL for the past several months! Any insiders have tips or great experiences at the poly to tell me about? Poly club level experiences would be great to hear about too! What are the rooms like? Are they big? We will have a crib in our room so I was slightly concerned about the amount of space that would have been taken up in our WL room since I know they are smaller than some other deluxes. What are the room views like?

I feel so under prepared for this vacation now! Lol

I can't comment on CL as we haven't tried CL yet at the Poly, but the resort overall is amazing, IMO. We do love the WL, but the Poly will always be our favorite. The tropical grounds are beautiful, the rooms are large and spacious (quite a bit larger than the WL), all rooms have a daybed, and the pool is great as it backs up to the beach with a distant view of the castle (you can watch Wishes while swimming). Since you are CL, you will be in the Hawaii longhouse, which is right next to the main pool, making it easy to run up to the lounge for snacks/drinks if you are planning some pool time. If you booked GV CL, you will most likely have a view of the new Oasis pool (which, from pics I've seen, is beautiful). Hopefully others will give some information on CL. Have a great trip :wizard:.

OK...I can say with almost 100% certainty that you will be very happy with Poly CL! No worries at all! It's one of our favorite CL's, and we've stayed at almost all of them. The first thing that will WOW you is when you step into the lounge and see that view! I still remember my first time and I swear it's one of the reasons we keep going back. I know WL is cozy, we've stayed there before, and you won't find that same theme at Poly but you'll find a relaxing and tropical vibe with amazing views from the lounge, beach and pool. Plan to be right at Poly some nights for Wishes. You'll never want to watch it anywhere else again! The water show coincides with Wishes, so it makes every night fun.

YES - you will notice a difference in room size between WL and Poly. We used to have 2 cribs and the monorail resorts fit us best. I'm not sure which type of room you have (garden view, lagoon view, TPV?), but even with a garden view it will be nice because I believe the quiet pool construction is done and that is the way the garden view faces.

Keep in mind that 1st floor rooms have a patio. 2nd floor rooms have a small standing balcony. 3rd floor rooms have a full balcony.
The food is on the 2nd floor, so some people request that floor. Personally, we always request 1st or 3rd floor because we want a patio/balcony.
If you're on the 1st or 3rd floor, you can easily take stairs to the 2nd floor. No rooms are a "far" walk. There is also an elevator.
The desk CM's are on the 1st floor.
There is additional seating and a bathroom on the 3rd floor.

You can walk to the GF if you want to explore, shop, or eat there. Quick monorail to CR too.
The TTC is right next to Poly, so you can have direct monorail to both MK and Epcot (no stops).

Your experience at Poly should enhance your overall vacation.
:)

Thank you for this! This makes me feel so excited there weren't that many club level options available for us to switch to this late in the game, and I was leaning towards switching to the GF but my husband convinced me that we all would enjoy the poly. We have a 3 yr old and one yr old and we have never stayed on the monorail with the kids before so this will probably be even more amazing than I was imagining! Our double stroller can be a pain on the busses.

Yes, we used a double stroller for many, many years so I totally understand! The vacation is a lot more relaxing when you're not dealing with unloading and folding up the stroller for every bus ride. If you have hoppers, you can even maneuver things around so that you can get to HS by walking through Epcot. When our kids were your kids' ages, we did things like that all the time because we were never in a hurry to get anywhere. We'd monorail to Epcot, do a couple fun rides, have a snack or eat lunch in the World Showcase, then simply walk or boat over to HS.

Also, I forgot to mention before but someone else touched on it above, but with the location of the CL building (Hawaii), you are right next to both pools, really, so you can easily go back and forth between the pool and your room and/or the lounge. At most other resorts, it's not that convenient to go back and forth. You will easily be able to take your baby breaks! Or whenever you guys need drinks from the lounge, it's quick to grab them. My DH is back and forth to get beer quite a lot it seems.;)
