My crew and I will be leaving a day early for our vacation staying offsite in Orlando. We will be there early for our check in day. Have any of you ever gotten your room early in the day @ the Wilderness Lodge or has it always been 3pm? I want to at least check our bags in and start exploring, but if our room was ready by 10 or 11 it would be wonderful. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!:)

It really varies a great deal whether you can check in early or not. Often times if you have made a specific room request which the resort plans to honor, you can be offered a choice of waiting until that specific room is ready, or taking an alternate that is already vacant. It also depends upon occupancy at the time. If the resort is very full and you are taking a room that will be vacated by a guest that day, chances are you'll need to wait until check-in time, so the Mousekeepers have time to clean it.

When we arrived at WL 2+ years ago, we checked in at around 1:00 and had 2 choices that were both available immediately. This was in October and the lodge was not full.

If you do find that your room is not ready at 10:00, the resorts are very good about holding your luggage for you. You can pre-register, get your room key-cards, park passes if applicable, set up your room-charging if desired, and you'll be given a phone number to call later in the day to learn when the room will be ready, and the room number if not already identified. DH & I have done that, too, and it worked very smoothly.

Have a great time!

Mrs Snowgod is right on target. We arrived at WL at 10:30 am on Dec 20th - a very busy time. I had faxed in a room request for the popular bunk beds and courtyard view of the waterfalls. I had a very nice CM, Beth, who was checking us in. She said they had assigned us a room which fulfilled all our requests but the room would not be ready till 5pm. We had been up since 4 am that morning and needed a nap badly before MVMCP so we gave up that room and asked for an earlier checkin . Beth then found us a courtyard view room with bunk beds (our first choice) which did not look directly at the waterfalls but was still pretty nice. We were able to check into our room at 11:00 am.

We arrived at 9 am in March 2000 with a special room request and didn't get in until 1pm. But the room was perfect. You can always kill time at the parks.
